The satria Replacement Model which going to launch soon.....share some pic wit all.....Front Look.

Wow. Car looks great. It definately needs a rear spoiler and humm.....intercooler would be interesting. Cheers

exhaust tip coming out just in the middle???? not my type (except mini)

I can't fault Proton's design - they're really good! They've got some brill designers there. Mid outlet needs a bigger pipe (or twins) though. I wonder if the SRM launch will coincide with the vvt campro as promised some time back.

Whatever the case, I'm certain that a manual SRM will be a lot more fun in day-to-day urban driving than a heavy big-engined auto Bimmer. Sure, the build quality sucks and the interior is akin to cardboard, but bottom line, you get what you pay for. Residuals for the first 3 years should be good, so long as they don't muck it up too badly.

The front looks pretty OK but the back looks too sedate. Needs bodykits to spruce up the appearence at the back alley. :D

the front bonnet reminds me of X5's...

Looks commendable from the 2 photos.... will see the reliability side of it....

yaya, plus a gear lever that can patah anytime, and risk of spontaneous combustion

I think Proton does not design. They just copy design cues from here and there. Used to copy from Alfa, then Mercedes, now the copy from DC5's rear lights.
Furthermore, their marketing is dumb! I hate their Tagline 3R; Race, Rally and Research. It's like they are still trying things out. The Afta should kill them, no more protection for them in the long run.
Globalization will fix them, protection policies will not protect anyone anymore. 'Water will find its own level'

I think there are a lot of good things inside proton. The are many things they are trying to do that no one else in Malaysia is doing. Eg: their plant in Tanjung Malim is light years ahead of any other auto plant in Malaysia.

That said, at the moment I don't think the efforts has managed to gel together and result in commendable cars on the road. I really think we need somebody like Chales Ghosn (does not have to be a foreigner) to really shake things up and come up with noteworthy cars.

It had better happen soon, cos we are running out of time.

As for the SRM. if it has the reliability of the Korean's (don't mention Toyota) and if the warranty really means that they will replace anything faulty, then that would be a good start (or should I say restart).

Reminds me of the time I tried out a new software in the early 90s called Gryphon Photo Morph. You could take your photo and your wife's and 'morph' it and see what your kid might look like.

Anyway, I took a photo of the new Merc C-Class (just launched at that time to replace 190E) and an Audi A4 and E36, played around with the Morph settings and voila!!! I got the Honda Accord SV4!!!

That's how easy it is for car makers with no ideas to design a new car. Take an Alpha, throw in some essence of Audi with a pinch or Merc and a dash of Bimmer, toss it into the mighty morphing blending software and bang!!! You have a new Hyundai Sonata, Toyota Camry and Proton whatever. So much for originality in this day and age.

thread started 1 year and 1 month ago, still no news on the launch of the SRM. Or am I missing something here.

Saw this on the way to Taiping 2 weeks ago... I heard they're releasing within these couple of months. Still undergoing testing. But don't take my word for it.
