SA 875 infrared remote key

Hi sifu,I have a e39 japan model which use SA 875 = infrared remote control key, have anyone purchase and duplicate this type of key before? Any idea where to buy and how much is it?JT

I think you facing a big problem as i know e39 only have 315MHZ and 433MHZ key but your 1 is SA 875 infrared remote key. The problem is this IR key is for e46 and x series car. Really cannot sure can be set to diamond key or not. I think if you want to change to Diamond Shape key then might need to change the Remote Central Lock.

I never seen the SA 875 infrared remote key, can you show us the pictures of your key or send the pictures to my email waymondtam@yahoo.com

see below for the SA875 key, it has a IR LED to transmit the signals, to lock/unlock you have to point the remote to the red alarm light mounted below the rear view mirror

My e39 also have the red light below the rear view mirror but is not using this key. I am using the key shape which same with yours but got 3 button and now i am using diamond shape key too. Can you bring your come and let me test your car see it can use other remote or not.

So now you want to duplicate another key with remote ? Or you just want to change the rubber ? Until this moment i still not able to find a seller which selling the key as you mentioned.

Do you know what is the function of your E39 red light below the rear view mirror? I wanted to duplicate another key for backup, the one with broken rubber cannot function anymore due to the IR LED failure. Where is your location Tweiboon? It's good to test if mine can use the diamond shape key.

BTW, i have ask my next door mechanic, he said someone can duplicate my key for RM1050...that is so costly.

I stay at Sri Kesidang Apartment, Puchong Jaya. You can come to find me a night as well for testing your car. I think you are not pointing to the red light under the rear view mirror, you are pointing to the rear view which have a small hole is it ? My rear view mirror got a small hole and red light at the bottom. I think the red light is just an indicator for your alarm.

Now we got a very big problem to IR remote. Me and jittshong only able to resync the remote once then not able to do it again. Dont know is because of need to use the IR point to the rear view mirror or need to point to other place then only can sync the remote. If really need to use the IR to point some place then is meaning we are not able to set the IR remote to Diamond shape key already. If really need to change to Diamond shape key then i think need to change the alarm.

I manage to initiate the key the 2nd time now. We actually miss another last steps which is pointed to the Alarm light & pressure any key for 1 more time. then the car will lock & unlock to shown the initialization. It's getting clearer that my E39 is IR operated because if i block the IR LED on my key, pointed to the red alarm and pressure the lock/unlock key and my car will not respond at all.

Now the question is IR/ Radio can be selectable/configurable via INPA software?

Dont think you can order from UK. They require proof of ID for the key order. Needs the car registration (dont think they will accept the Malaysian registration) and two other proof of ID (bills with your name on, UK dont have identity cards).

I dont think its possible basically.

If without IR then no need to point to the mirror and press 1 more times ..............hehheheheheheheeh
If the BMW Scanner 1.4 or other scanner can set to use IR or non IR remote then only can change the IR remote to normal remote or else we not able to change the 2 buttons remote to 3 button remote.

For those use IR remote control which looking to change to 3 buttons remote control, there is a bad news for you guys that is you must change the alarm which using the 3 buttons remote control.
