dark1234, was it the past weekend that you used it? Under covered porch I presume?

Could you please update if there's any rust stain on the floor after a few more days. Cuz mine is brushed/stamp concrete and the stain are mainly on the uncovered portion - no roof above. Oh...and the stain wasn't right where I washed the wheels but they're at those places where it didn't drained properly and pools of water accumulate. No stain whatsoever right beneath the porch where I was doing the washing. Also I only noticed it after a couple of days of rain & shine. I'm still uncertain whether it's the Sonax or the IronX that caused the stain (or both) as I was using both at the time. oh....and a question: is your pebble wash floor stained/coated or not?

Anyway, nice bleeding effect. I'm surprised it worked that well without even touching the wheels with a brush. I guess the PW helps a lot, will try it out next time around. Nice review:top:

Nope no covered porch , under the sun but on last st the weather is ok not too hot , the sonax when was was diluted with water so no problem stain . My pepble floor is normal , maybe coated by dirt ( I power wash it annually )

I think yours could be either cement reaction or iron x

Bought the Xtreme Wheel Cleaner too.. I so kiasi and only spray it on wet sponge to scrub and wipe.. very alkaline feel, like Chorox.. my Pekingese were sniffing about to check out the strange odor.. didn't even get the purple effect.. :4:

The spray is not cheap le.. despite after 30% .. never spent so much money on a single detailing product before.. 500ml only, retail RM84 !!!

Any chemist here? why it turn purple le? :hmmmm2:

Sad part is.. after washing.. discover this.. and my heart sank.. like Titanic 3D.. :20:

astroboy, it's suppose to be sprayed on, leave to dwell so that it'll react with any presence of iron (turned deep red) and then only you brush/aggitate or rinse off. Yeah....it sure has a very strong smell of ammonia.

I'm not a chemist but from my readings of other forums I got this info:

"the reaction of iron in ammonical solution with thioglycollic acid in presence of citric acid to form iron thioglycolate which is pale pink to deep reddish purple in color."

Whoaaa....and the thread looks like it's still 80% ~ 90%. Hopefully it's just a shallow one and didn't go all the way through the rubber....did it?

yikes! I thought no acid? I only have specific spots to clean.. so will try it again in the coming weekend. The object penetrated my tyre.. sent it for internal patch this morning. RM25 + balancing RM5..

Even though it's acidic, but it should be safe. Or else Sonax would be in very big trouble already. You just made me curious.....I'll try to get a reading with my pH paper later if got the time.

It really makes the difference as seen in the pictures provided here before and after using the product. So it can be said that in order to remove the dust from rims through brakes, using the mentioned product will definitely give a shining effect to the rims again.

get a power washer like karcher and spray the dust off. it works perfectly for me.

Please be fore warn ...pls dont allow car wash to use any kind of chemical (esp unknown) such as - degreaser, engine degreaser. wheel brightener ...etc

Many wheel cleaner product are make of Hydrofluoric acid. This is one of the MOST dangerous form of acid in the makert. imagine just a 50% solution of Hydrofluoric acid can kill you if inhaled directly or is spilled on you. HF will only lightly burn your skin but the real problem comes later. It wants your bones! It seeks the calcium in your bones and in your blood! HF spilled on your skin may require calcium gluconate gel or an injection to replenish the calcium and ward off the effects those HF acid causes. Its calcium eating ability is why HF is a popular choice in concrete cleaners. and yet many car detailing shop (included road side car wash ) still using them

most if it is not all - multi purpose cleaner contains CARCINOGEN class 3 - which is classified as a CORROSIVE LIQUID containing potassium hydroxide, it is a combustible liquid, has an S5 Poison schedule, is TOXIC TO AQUATIC ORGANISMS, several of the ingredients have listed toxicity levels. listed as a COMBUSTIBLE LIQUID - in transporting. DO NOT allow product to contaminate water and to dispose of the product properly as it is HIGHLY TOXIC to fish and other aquatic organisms

it might trigger asthma and carcinogens and they can protect the world around them.

as for me I find simply easy to wash with alien clean - which is safe for your rims coating aka clearcoat/paint & weekly maintain with alien no rinse wash

Sorry KC. I just realized that I was going for the thing that may be harmful to various things even to the living beings. It was just the thing that I was amazed as I found that the rims are shining by the use of such products. I was not aware that such products contain toxic and harmful chemical agents. However as you have mentioned of alien clean, I can see that its much eco friendly. Thanks for your direction KC.

KC is right do not simple just get those unknown chelup brand to wash your car bad for the car and you , get those reputable like sonax , meguiar , mothercare etc etc
check for online review ( important ) , eg is those made i malaysia rain stain cleanner its DAMN CORROSIVE !! , just use vineger ( organic ) and wipe it

Imagine after driving at instant stops at cra washes...they straight blast out water pressure jet...is equally harmful
eg...our disc rotor is very thick, try splashing continuously with buckets of water each time you just had hard braking - ta da....it will get warped...what more to the coating with the rims...{just like splashing water on a heated pot} should allow it to cool off before washing...protect yr investment

I did a e60 last yr driven by chauffeur - the owner is fed up - had to change 2 sets of rims - how every curb he try to climb like a 4X4

First of all you need to start out by taking care of your wheel rims. You need to make sure that you wash your wheel rims on a regular basis. If you take your car to the car wash instead of hand washing it, you wheel rims are probably not getting their cleanest. Unfortunately that is an area of your vehicle that doesn't really benefit from the car wash. It just takes soap, water and a cloth or brush.
