Dudes Saw an ad in motortrader that thereis a company called Raptor based in Cheras offering superchargers for BMW's with a two year warranty. anyone had any experience with these guys? Thanks

Nope... never heard of it...but lately i can see these guys are very aggresive .... even in Hypertune mag (latest copy) they are showing their demo car...E46 :listen:

But there are another one in Sri Kembangan...forgot already what the name if this shop....they are doing the Superchager kit for Bimmer also.... they said not all Bimmer can fit in the superchager kit...have to check your engine 'healthy' or not... if not so healthy, then they will not fit in.

price is around RM 15k to RM 18k.... quite steep for me actually... :smokin:

But the fun you get...is priceless ler....coz i tested their E36 325i...hehehe...powderful sial!! :top:

Bud,

Yeah. Extra 30 to 40 bhp would be nice in any car. Dont think that boost will be very high maybe 0.3 to 0.4 bar. Looking at the ad does not mention anything about fueling too. Maybe we can just run the stock .

Tried calling him today but he is not answering.

Will try again on monday and will update on what info I can get .

Cheers !!!

"healthy"? I wonder what is consider "healthy" to them??? I wonder...

15k-18k is consider cheap already. If you get those from Infinitas, ESS and etc, it will easily cost above 20k.

Im running 0.32bar and getting 70 ponies extra..... :)

20k? you forgot to add in the stupid MALAYSIAN tax imposed. which at the end you might end up paying somewhere close to 30k...money for money, it still worth it. at least you won;t get some malaysian boleh trial and error kit. they may probably add in some piggyback for you but do you wanna be another guinea pig experiment for them??

most of the kits overseas are well established, notably ESS, infinitas and AA, they come with proper brackets and parts, with proper fueling and ignition mapping and most of all, its their EXPERIENCE that counts the most. BUT you may have one drawback back here in malaysia being the lack of experience mechs to hav ethe kit installed.

i know someone running a ESS kit and its awesome, just took a ride on his car and its smooth and almost stock like when cruising but the monster just comes alive at the mash of the throttle.

Bud

that is very impressive. What car are you driving and what type of supercharger?

70 ponies from 0.32 is very impressive. Is this on wheel?

Anything added with the SC? Exhaust, piggyback etc?

Opp,
I think supercharger is cheaper relative to engine swap! RM 15k is still a lot of money but like the saying goes...........YOU PLAY, YOU PAY!

p/s: one of the club member has a supercharger on his E39, try talking to Feisaldzul

Raptor kit

My car is using the Raptor kit right now for more then 8 month. Pretty cool. Easy to maintain.

Now running at 0.7 bar , whp = 270, torque = 322Nm

Pretty easy to maintaince the charger. can DIY le.

Flexible to boost up the power not like other brand tat had limit. ( 1 bar max )

Going for HPC sepang Nov 4th. Hope see u guys there !!!

Nickmund has the kit in his E46 320i, if Im not wrong.

Piggyback? Which one is it? Probably you whould get a quotation with a full list of parts included in the kit?

15k for engine swap??? I dont think you can do any engine swap with 15k.....

E46 320i Infinitas sk+ with IC. @ the crank. Stock (but gutted) exhaust with SMT7.

But seriously, 15K is really cheap for a brand new SC. The only thing is reliability.

bud

I guess that I have to remind myself that I am not driving a japanese car anymore. If I have an Evo, RM 15K =

1) Haltech
2) 3 inch Exhaust+down pipe and wastegate 40 mm
3) High pressure fuel pump
4) Injectors
5) Bigger turbo.

For BMW

RM15K = Raptor supercharger at 0.4 bar boost. hummmm......

Well, me too. I used to own a honda....

But do remember that you MIGHT need to upgrade your suspension and brakes after SC'ing.

Bud

The E39 of mine is so freaking heavy, I think that even if there was 50bhp extra, it wouldn't be going anywhere too quickly. Anyhow , got a Eibach setup already. Brakes are std for now.

Raptor man,

Is your engine a 2.0,2.5 or 2.8? 270 whp at 0.7 bar? The 2.0's are giving like 150 bhp on crank, 175 for the 2.5 and 190+ for the 2.8.

As you did not state the capacity of your engine, lets assume the following.

The SC gives almost 100% extra bhp for the 2.0, 80% for the 2.5 and 70% for the 2.8?

And mind you you noted 270whp. Do you have NOS in your car of something?

Reason, my 523i 1997 dynoed at 138 whp.Rated M52 is 170+bhp on crank so I have almost 20+% power loss to transmission .

So I can see around 240 whp if I run 0.7 bar? Interesting. Could you care to elaborate?

I think you are the guy I spoke to yesterday on the phone. You must be Nickmun.

I'm Leon.

Cheers!!
