my best bet is try to stay with the standard bushings as they tend to last longer compared to the performance type ...if ya using ya car as a daily ride ...

different from what i read in postings etc, the standard bushings are made from rubber thus the endurance is less than the PU type.

all i know is these PU bushes are meant for cars that you usually track it...and in our climate don't think so this PU bushes would even last ...so best bet is stay with the rubber ones as the molecular stands out better when comes to withstanding the heat and climate here ....

as wanting to buy these PU bushes for my trans mount ...but read some where it just cracks easily ... so gonna keep it with my current regular bushes ..

Just change today with ori bushes for my front lower arm.
Just want to know, is it any different bushes for E36 , 318 / 325 / 328 model

Dear all, during a routine check on my car's under carriage, my mechanic has started sharing with me that there are visible cracks in my lower arm bushes.

As I have recently also changed my suspension, I read somewhere that it is also advisable to change the car's bushings.

Hence I started looking deeper into this. From my research on the internet.
  • PU Bushes are good,
  • gives good feedback and
  • improve on steering
From my discussions with mechanics and friends in the motor industry, here are some of the points that I have gathered.
  • PU is good but because of our weather here, it doesn't last long in heavy rain and dirt
  • PU if not used (especially if car is not used often) then the PU material also changes shape with the load of the car (unlike rubber)
  • For daily driving, original car bushings would be best to be used
To me, I am looking at a combination of PU bushes and rubber ones so I am trying to reach out to the folks here for some of their feedback.
