Hi guys, I received my 116i last month. Sorry that I didn't update myself for so long. I went for Germany for business trip and I paid a visit to BMW Rengensburg Plant(where 1 series is produced) just the next week I recieved mine here. My love to my car has been double-up after the visit. Our car was welded, stamped and laser-dimension-checked by fully-robotic. Just the final assembly is using skilled worker. 1series was built in the same production line as 3-series coupe and convertable. So i expected they have the same quality. So cool....I also visited BMW Welt during its opening. :rock:
p.s. Grace, I seems to be matched with the person u met(Chinese, 116, sparkling graphite and I will go Glenmarie sometimes:driver, but 11th Nov(Sunday) I am in Hong Kong...so not me.:33:

Problem with DSC, active steering

I would like to ask all of you whether u experience the same problem as me:
I got warning signal on DSC(the triangle one), run flat tire and brake. All in yellow. Car signal light won't switched off automatically. I sent to Service, and they said that they need parts delivered from Germany. Luckily all under warranty. Another service center told me this is a common problem for 1series. Is it?

Yes, this is a common problem in the DSC. I've know of a 116i who has exactly the same problem and AB ordered the parts from Germany as replacement. No worries as long as they are taking care of it. But u may need to wait for the parts to arrive and it takes a few weeks.

Wow!... Joinh, waited 6 months for your 1 series and less than 1 month after finally getting it, now this!

Can u just unplug the DSC fuse? or u just let the indicator lit and continue to use the car?

What a load of craps. If its a common problem, then why they are not ready with spares? I think that's a well rehearsed answer rather than saying "Wah! first time see this problem! This one jia lat, no spare part here!"

Lately saw one unit 2005 model 120i only used 3k km for sale at RM149k. I thought its a good deal, now I got worried..

So meanwhile Joinh, do u get a replacement 120i while waiting for the spare part? it will be an estimated 6 months wait hor.. like how u wait for you 116i in the first place! Cool!

Then another problem... then u get a loan 135i for another 6 months! no bad ya!

Thank you for your replys. I sent my car to SA yesterday as they said the parts is arrived and they promise to hand over the car today.
Astroboy, I didn't wait that long for my 1 series, just 2 weeks. The parts need around 2 weeks also. It's still driveable even the warn signal is on. No problem.
Grace, actually I have 2 more problems after i got my car: windows trap protection and my audio player disply fade off a little bit. Is it common as well? Please let me know when you will bring ur car to TT. Plenty question to ask you.
