Wow that's a pretty good return from the fuel! :top:

Fill up the Petronas Ron 95 when left with quarter tank. No reduction in power and in fact feel much better.
Now monitoring the fuel consumption and got a feeling its better too. For the 1st time in my life I bow down to Petronas for making a great petrol. Well done!

Low fuel warning lit up and shell BU has problem accepting credit cards on pumps, I'll try this fuel tomorrow morning. But after switching can no longer collect Bonuslink points lah :bawling:

:listen: no worries bro ... the Mesra Card offers a much better deal ... :top:

Hmm, I think I need a Mesra card from now on.

Fourth full tank since Sat morning, did two round trips from Subang - Seremban via LEKAS, had a blast...

Mileage covered as per this evening, 3/4 tank consumed, is more than 245 miles = 394kms...

I need to refill tomorrow... :p

pour 95extra to my wira, can feel the power compare to previous 95 as well compare to other brand 95. but i still stick 97 to my e46, need to see for more +tive feedback

Just try out 1 full tank Extra 95 in my E60. 2 days of city drive and a trip thru/flo JB-Melaka today... I am impressed. For almost 1/3 cheaper than RON97 but comparable power, I think it is worth for the saving.

During city ride, I can't feel any different from RON97. But, on the highway, the car show less power. Overall, it is advisible to have a try.

Goin for 2nd refill tomorrow. will update the calculation. Performance wise better than my usual BHP ron95

2nd tank filled up, less mileage than Shell VP97's average, in fact never had such low mileage per tank in more than 5 months. But it's 80sen cheaper per litre than VP97.

Driving-fun wise my butt couldn't judge the difference yet.

After 2nd refill today of RM105.90 petronas ron95, managed to get 473km! So its bout 22.4 cents per km!
Its bout 80% city drive & 20% highway and some rempit too. Kudos to Petronas.:congrats::rock::41::adore:

BHP Larkin gonna miss u laaa

Pakai Petonas sebelah AB jer ..

My daily petrol expenses used to be Rm 22-24 (Shell 95) - now dropping to Rm 19-22 using Petonas. Power - same-same aje
The E39 also clocking better mileage per tankful.

The best part - easy to get Petonas station as compared to BHP

Just went through a full tank of Petronas 95xtra. I must say I am really disappointed. For 68 litres, I only got 470km which is 6.9km/ltr. As for performance, my car felt heavy and sluggish. With Shell Vpower97, I have been consistently clocking 500-515km for 68 litres which works out to 7.5km/ltr, with excellent performance. So if I were to put driving enjoyment over everything else, I would just stick to VPower.

My E39 still feels the power, but about 10% less mileage compare to Shell VP97. At 30% RM savings, I guess it's OK to go with Petronas 95xtra. Inconvenience is I have to walk in to make AMEX payment every time.

Though it may give u less mileage per full tank. It gives you the best savings per full tank.

And from the data you have given;

rm2.70(ron 97) x 68litre = RM 183.60 for 515km
rm1.90(ron 95) x 68litre = RM 129.20 for 470km

Difference of price = RM 54.40 more for ron 97/tank
Difference of range = 45km more for ron 97/tank

So, RM 54.40 worth of ron 95, will give me (RM54.40 / RM1.90) 28.63Litre.

So, If I were given RM54.40 or 28.63Litre of ron 95, how far can I travel in the same car as yours?

Thus, using the same fuel consumption reading given for ron 95 which is 6.9km/L;

6.9km/1L = Xkm/28.63L
Xkm = 197.547km.

Thus, it can be clearly seen that RM54.40 worth of ron95 (Petronas 95Xtra)would take me further than 45km would take me for the same price amount of ron 97 (Shell Vpower 97).

Correct me if I'm wrong. Law students are well known for being bad. EXTREMELY bad in simple mathematics.

Wow, great research.

For an accountant-wannabe like me, I'm actually lost before you even started your first 'multiple' symbol. :p

Haha. But you're right. More worth it pumping this compared to the 97 at RM 2.70 per litre.

hahaahah my final examination just ended.. used to fill my time with books this couple of weeks... so now got nothing to do. Boring,so better to start practicing my calculation skill back, which I have left since after SPM 4 years ago hahahahaha :p Nanti lupa matematik susah.

Great breakdown and well presented argument. Take this from a former lawyer. But as I said if I were to base my choice of fuel purely on driving pleasure, it would be VPower fuel. Cheers!!!
