Dear Sifus, The brake amber light came out. Brake pads are due for a change. And since rotors have becoming to look like "dishes", i think they are due as well. Questions..1. Any difference between original BMW and "German" rotors in terms of robustness and braking ability? I learned that the price can be double..about RM320 per pc.2. Pads...any good brand? What's the average price.I used the car for more than 2 yr already. Before i bought the car, the owner changed the pads. I clocked more than 50k km on these pads. Is this normal wear? Mine is a 528i yr 2000. Mileage 179k km.Thanks in advance.

brake pads - textar - rm 140 per pair
rotor price donno but the german rotors works the same on my previous e34.
people may say these german substitutes warp easily but if you do normal street driving and not subject it to track like braking....you'll be fine

don't forget the brake wear sensors while you're at it

juz changed my rotors and pads recently - German mari ones. pedal feel softer but braking ability about the same. the original rotors lasted for about 47K km.
not sure which brand my mechanic fren installed for me but the rims becomes matte black after a few days of driving tks to the brake dusts!

ive changed front pad-texstar and rotor -twr . no as asspensiff as ori but it does the job as good, at cheaper price. twr rotor doesnt vibrate even during heavy braking, not as claim as sum ppl tht after market rotor will. the drawbck is tht texstar pad is soft and dusty and will faded ur shiny rim. but most importnt for me, the braking power remain the same.

probably they hv slotted rotors but the 1 otobavarian sell are the nornal type

Anyone actuall tried Bendix Metal King brake pads before on their UDMs? As i've experience using them before on a Jap, it just bites and bites and bites all the time. No brake fade.

I m using Textar Brake pad wif Brembo Max Rotor. It bites really well & does not fade as heat build up. Brembo Max Rotor is around RM300/pair.

Pads and rotor

Got an emergency. Kena balik kampung Johor. So, since do not wanna suffer drivin my Camry, i had to do a rush job on my Unker's pads and rotors. Finally decided not to change the rotors...as they still looks OK. My old textar pads made way for new ones...front RM150/ pair, rear RM125/ pair. 2 sensors at RM35 each. Labor RM50. Surprised that my old textars lasted almost 60K km.
