N42 here. Decided to do major overhaul as my ride consume engine oil. Some leak here and there. More at the front of the engine. How much normally for major overhaul. Mine was quoted around 4k. Is it reasonable. Now my can run in good condition but decided to do this for better performance. Thanks in advice sifus.

bro IH...I think you can it for less than 3K for a top overhaul which includes replacing the valve seals. Its basically the valve seals aje for our model. Once that is done, it won't consume lagi.

Really?. Because I saw oil stains on the floor everyday. So don't know where actually the leak come from. So for less headache decided to do all. But if u said only valve seal, it may save me from spending. But after changed the valve seal afraid leak come again. What's your opinion bro Iceduke?

we can have mini TT and we'll help u spot where the leaks is..right AS?

Valve seal is a guarantee. Gendong..aidj sudah replace and oil consumption problem solved so thats the one. Unless of coz u rempit kau kau till ur cylinder rings also kaput which will have continuous smoke la then major one.. otherwise seals will do ;)

check what color or smell is the oil...is it powersteering / auto or engine fluid? gold or pink?

oh just noticed ure in JB...lol...when u move the car after overnight, try to visualise mark the area the oil spot is from...I suspect is the Vacuum pump area :)

Hi Bro...

Check your oil filter housing for leaks, Oil drain plug, and perimeter of Valve cover.

What you can do: Put new cardboard underneath your car to identify exact location of oil drip. Jack the car and put on jack stand to identify exactly where the oil leak is from. We can further troubleshoot from there.

Bro IH,

Why don't you try bringing your car to my mech. Me and few of my collegues are going there to service now and he is very good and resonable price..Let me know if u need his contact.

Probably not. Change the o-rings already.

It's more at the below front of the engine. Bottom of the engine there's a cover right. Oil seep through from there. I haven't noticed from where actually the leak because haven't inspect from bottom of the car. Within a year, i've changed the oil sump, rocker gasket, solenoid o-rings, crankshaft oil seal. Looks like the seals doesn't last long.

Not in the early morning start. It happen sometimes when pressing hard the pedal, white smoke come out. Have some black dust oil in the exhaust tip.

yeah the oil sump gaskets dont lats if ur mech gets the lesser quality ones. Try changing it as well, shouldn't cost much. if white smoke upon hard acceleration could be seals..
