For those of us who appreciate Lotus cars like the Elise, may want to know that a special Lotus eXige Sport was created for a "South East Asian" client!. It is race ready with roll-cage. Here are some high-lights:- Slightly modified Elise chassis and body panels. Created using low-temp CF curing process. Complete car looks like a sporty Elise or Exige.- Vaxhall Vectra 3 litre V6 engine (narrow angle) generaling 400HP at 8250 rpm, 405 Nm torque. (uncannily like the Renault F1 engine)- Hewland sequential 6speed tranny back mounted at the rear diff. (This probably cost a fortune!!!)- 6-point racing harness, FIA spec roll-cage, built-in airjacks, single nut mag wheels.- Motec ECU with Stac tach and racing spec circuit breakers (no fuse box!).I had pictures from Evo magaine (premier Philippine edition). Looks really sharp. Now, the speculation comes. Who is the South East Asian buyer/owner ?.It is race spec, so it will be intended for a race event, yeah!.My speculation is Malaysian owner and to be used in Merdeka Cup in Aug31!!!. Could it be Alex Yoong ?. I think likely or his or similar team. For those who has seen Merdeka Cup coverage last year, there are serious cars like Porsche GT2, Radical SR2, and plenty of Elises. This one, if it were for the Cup would be the one to watch this year!.Gross weight : 820 kg, which is 478 HP per tonne!!!

The owner is cfm Malaysian! & yes cfm also that it will compete in this years merdeka race. So watch out to see who it is! People at Porsche Malaysia is talking about this car cause their GT3's will have their work cutr out for them. Only think to for is realiablility of the engine.

Under normal hard driving/race conditions, that GM sourced Opel/ Vauxhall 3 litre engine shud last ... but then again a lot things can go way wrong during an Endurance Race. I'm gonna do my best to be there at SIC this year !

Cheers,

Hi Vanquish,

I agree that the GM motor should last. Looks like Opel did lots of serious testing when they got the VX220 into production so time ago. Actually a diesel variant ran for 24 hrs at an average speed of 150Mph!. Amazing!.

What company is cfm ?. Care to elaborate ?. I am puzzled.
