Oil leaking ..@#$@#$#$

, This morning , when moved my car notice oil leak in my car porch, mmmmmm, what the problem now ? Sifus - Please advise.

What oil? Engine oil?

If engine oil, check:
1. Oil sump. If it leaks you have two choices: a. Seal the leak (usually at the plug) with aluminium welding) b. Replace the rubber plug/seal
2. Gaskets (lower engine side)

If tranny oil, check:
1. Flywheel oil seal. Cheap stuff but make sure you get the right one. Find a mech that knows how to fit it properly. The labor cost is a bit high because you have to bring down the gearbox

If fuel, check:
1. Fuel hoses
2. Fuel filter

Could be PS fluid as well. Mine leaked twice already and was due to PS hoses that needed to be changed.

E46 leaking oil? Kinda early for gaskets to leak deteriorate, rite?

Btw, the colour of the oil will give u also a clue where it's from....darkbrown/black from engine, gearbox......normally light brown, brake fluid...clear etc.

I am no magician-lah......go see your doctor, and see it with him when the car is lifted up.....

could be leak from oil filter area also, so I wun tayang u what I think cos ur mechanic will tell u best!

small leaks.......no issue but I forget urs is an e46, so should not have those!

Mine also leaking and it's redish in color. Had it checked, and it's from one of the power steering hose. Replace it and replenish your PS fluid. Done

....i change my oil filter (It comes with new O ring seals) for RM5.00 at my regular mechanic. Mann filter RM28.00. it takes less than 3 minutes.

Then again i should have done it myself with a 34mm nut tool for free in less 5 minutes.

RM50.00??

Just done mine in Wshop in PJ, oil leak problem (E46)

OIL Filter Housing Gasket (28), Engine wash(10), labor(50), Engine oil(47)

TOTAL: RM135.00
