New C class Vs E90

from a unbiased point of view, i do believe that the new C-Class is a good effort from MB. That idea of having different front grilles to differentiate the Classic/Elegance line from the AvantGarde line is very creative.
The styling hints alot at the new CL-Class design language - but it isn't graceful. However, its still alot better looking than the model it replaces.
Interior wise is a disappointment - very squarish 80s design and plastics used. They could have been alittle more adventurous here.
Driving dynamics - we've gotta wait to test drive the car. But to beat a 3er in dynamics will have to take alot!
Just my opinion...

My point is that I don't think it's fair to pin it on the yankee connection, not whether one likes it or not. And I think the germans are the stronger party in the marraige. Anyway it looks pretty good to me...more dynamic than the standard grill and star on bonnet...

Ok I concede...my decidedly wicked anti-Detroit inclinations got the better of me...:p

Jury's still out on thw W204 vs E90 standings. Actually I am quite piqued to test one as soon as I can. With upgrade ideas festering in my mind, I am curious to see how much of an improvement the W204 will be but I suspect I will still be inclined to go with the 335i. MB has their work cut out for them to evencome close to the E90's dynamics. The competitors been trying for years but haven't figured out the secret recipe.

Not trying to get you to concede anything, just wanting to keep your standards high :) You're usually very objective and factual, but here your obvious bias against MB and Detroit were too much off.

I think MB's audience is a different type of person and won't sway many of us, but the W204 at least attempts to project more sportiness in the C. I think the large star on reduced slats grill is a good move as that has always been the preserve of the CLs, SLs and Ms. Don't think they did enough though. They should decide whether they want a mini-CL or a mini-S, not try to project both.

Latest from my C&C rep is CBUs likely to be in by mid-year. BMW have only themselves to blame - I (and others) might have ordered a 325 Sports by now if they had demo cars! But now the new C is plastered on the front pages of most local car mags, and...hmmm...wonder, wonder... Still can't get their act together can they?
