Yup, my wing mirror glass is missing.

Ignore the oil spot, its my power steering..regularly top up once every fortnight.
e36_wheelgap.jpg
That wheel gap is a little embarrassing.

Gotta rep the BBS :rock:NOSTALGIA

My old set, RS033..:love: I miss em:20:. Was for my '90 Corolla.
e36_interior.jpg
Cockpit. Seats are stained so bad..and they squeak..:argh:The crooked rear view is to compensate for the lack of left wing mirror.

Biggest engine I've ever owned. I've had a 12v, 16v, 20v(ITB) & now a 24valve.:top:

Had a the head & sump gasket changed cuz they leakin'

On the lift, the guys at this place was friendly & helpful:top:

Exhaust having some cancer

No one like my car :hmpf:

:65:...anyway recently fixed my noisy driver side door cards;

Firstly, get yourself a used tire tube from a motorcycle workshop.
clipfix_1.jpg

They costs noting, so walk away if a greedy shop owner wants $ for it.

Of all the clips on my driver side only 1 had the rubber ring around it, the rest were free to RATTLE ALL DAY.:107:
clipfix_2.jpg

This is a clip without the rubber ring.
clipfix_3.jpg

What you want to do is cut a piece of the rubber tube, approx the size of a 20cent coin.
clipfix_4.jpg
- Swiff army knife optional.

Next cut a hole in the middle of the patch you just cut out.
clipfix_5.jpg
- pink scissors increases accuracy.
Size of the hole should be just a tid bit small than a 5cent coin. Dont bother using a paper hole puncher, its too small.

While it wasn't directly apparent to me, the rubber ring would be inserted between the clip stand & the clip itself and not between the gutter on the clip.
clipfix_6.jpg
clipfix_7.jpg

Use something as leverage cuz its a biatch to get the rubber ring between the stand & the clip. Careful not to apply too much force tho.
clipfix_8.jpg

Stretch the rubber ring across in to the gap you made by leverage.

Job done.
clipfix_10.jpg

Side note, I'm not sure if all motorcycle tire tubes are of the same thickness...but mine were abit thicker than the gap available between the clip stand & clip itself. So if possible, get a tube with thickness less than a 20cent coin.

Now I can drive without mad rattlez.

nice stick shift there bro.. if i wanna find sumthing to have fun, this would be a good example oh what it should be.. :top:

No one cares but I'll go ahead anyways..

Finally replaced my broken left side wing mirror with boyburhon's spare unit.

On with the mediocre DIY;

Remove the backing from the door;

This shows the clips on the backing;
2012-06-10-045.jpg

Using a knife with leverage free's them from their place...with care of course.

Fabricate your own side mirror holder, mine from boxes that came with the mirror;
2012-06-10-051.jpg

Ingenious.

Put on some tunes;
2012-06-10-048.jpg

Some SlipKnot in this case.

All that's left is to remove the 3 bolts holding the mirror in place. No pix?, yea.. lame.

Mount em;

Photoshoot time;

My phone is a better camera than my camera..

Now that's done, my driver side power window decided to go mad..:motz:

some drop will do more justice to those lovely BBS...keep em' coming...sorry I missed this thread...subscribed now :)

Thanks Yat & legendary VMAN, wheels & tires are the next big thing.

Still researching on how to get lower.. I remember seeing a 2door getting almost no fender gap with just B8's & eibach springs, dont know how the did that. Currently TRYING to save for a set of coilovers.

pretty rock solid e36 you've got there ...and yehh that DIY with rubber is the best solution for rattling noise .... keep posting pictures to share the lattest updates ya ... T Q

U need to get ur fender signals in the correct orientation bro :)
Other than that, keep up the good work. The darker side mirrors look nice matched with ur silver ride. Serious...

hey Chrix
happy to see u got the side mirror on... nice ride bro, eventhough it was super dirty when we met....hehe

Thanks Mr JFT.. but gotta give props to the previous owner for fitting them. hehe

Bilstein B8 + SPAX = Low :)

How & where can I get these?

^ Bilstein B8's are commonly available. Not sure of a SPAX supplier around here. Years back got it in Wangsa Maju but the shop closed down. I do still see them on eBay UK. One of my friend still using it. Will let you know if he ever decides to replace them.
