MUST SEE! EPIC Detail - BRG Mini Cooper S

Would like to share this EPIC detail by my younger brother on his British Racing Green Mini Cooper S.Estimated around 25hrs spent on this detail. Copied and pasted from another forum so please excuse the abbreviations. Enjoy!So i finally found some time and motivation to detail the Mini.It was sent to AAMI for hail damage repairs a couple of weeks ago and i havent found the time to do it until now. Well the repairs were good but they left some weird marks and plenty of deep scratches and holograms.ProcessWashed with Meguiars NXTFI GPC on all trim with Swissvax Detail BrushClayed with Final Inspection Fine Clay with NXT as lube2-3 steps of polish depending on how deep the scratches are using a rotaryFI Heavy on MD Orange PadFI Medium on MD Orange PadFI UltraFine on Black padAll plastic and rubber trim clean with XenitWaxed with 2 layers of Dodo Juice Double Wax SoftDAY 1This is the type of damage that only appears on the bonnet, probably what they use to shape the metal back into place

Dirt in grill, badges, trim, door jambs etc

Cleaned using FI GPC and a Swissvax Detail Brush

DAY 2

Started with polishing the rear lights

Before

After Cap Medium on Orange

After Cap JR on Black

After Cap Heavy on Orange Pad

Cleaned with Xenit on a cloth

Removed Bonnet Trim

Cleaned with Xenit

Removed front grill

Nice and dirty

Cleaned with GPC and Swissvax Detail brush

Polished

Removed trims on doors

Polished underneath the trims

Removed headlight chrome surrounds

Cleaned up with Xenit

Removed tailight chrome surround and tailights

Gunk behind the lights

Cleaned and polished with FI Ultra Fine

Removed boot trim to clean behind it

Some buff marks left by someone

Removed with Xenit

Cleaned

Polished

Some after shots, bonnet is 100% corrected

Rear is done as well

Thats it for today lol

DAY 3 - Getting tired now

Finished the last stage of polishing on all panels

Got started with the gloss black pillars

After Cap Medium on Orange pad

After Cap Ultrafine on Black pad

Watermarks on fuel filler cap

After Cap heavy on Orange

Marks on bonnet chrome

Polished with Cap Heavy on Orange pad

Headlights Polished

Headlight chrome surround fitted and polished with Cap Medium on Orange pad

Front grill Before

During - Using Xenit on a cloth and a screwdriver, took me about 45 minutes on this

After

Taillight chrome surround before

Polished by hand with Cap Medium

Removed weather seal to polish the door jambs

Done

Polished interior gloss black trim with Cap Ultrafine on Black pad

Didnt want to remove everything as they will just get scratched up again

DAY 4 - 3 hours spent today

Has been raining the past few days so i havent been able to take the car out for a wash and to check the paint in full sunlight so i decided to go out and get some Autosol to do this....

Autosol on a crappy cloth, took be about an hour and a bit to do by hand. You can see i even polished the hangers

Polished the badge up

Side markers - that weird mark on the right is just some masking tape residue

DAY 5 - Finishing touches

Weather finally cleared up a little, or so i thought, so i started with a wash of the car

Dirt that was underneath the window trims

Cleaned with Swissvax Detail Brush

Actually started raining at this point, just after i brought it in after the wash

Dried and then Swissvax Cleaner Fluid Light on a Hand Pocket Microfibre Applicator

Dodo Juice Double wax used on this, i did 2 layers one after the other to ensure no spots were missed and just for that extra gloss/protection

Applied with Hand Pocket Microfibre Applicator

Buffed off

Door Jambs waxed as well

Rain had stopped so i brought it outside for some finished shots

Got anal again and decided to wax the exhaust with Megs NXT Tech Wax

Cleaned tyres with Xenit and dressed with Mid Sheen Tyre Dressing
Wheels also waxed with Megs NXT Tech Wax - Dont have any other use for this wax now lol

Still spotless after 20k kms - All i have done is washed them and kept them clean

All these shots are not edited, they arent overexposed either so those reflections are real, looks like that in flesh

Sometimes this car doesnt even look green....

Also, just polished up my numberplate holders

Used FI Medium on an Orange pad and then FI Ultrafine on a Black pad
