At the rear of altenator , there is item call "voltage regulator" attach to it, I guess it's not good enough engineering put into it, or is it issue with voltage not stable lies somewhere else ?

regulator and stabiliser are two different component and function.

I've got a D1 Spec VS.. Made in Japan.. Supposedly the BEST.. RM450..

After installation.. fuiiiiiii yooohhhh!!!.. Mental horsepower increase by 20. Other than that, can't feel sh*t! No difference whatsoever.. So bros.. go figure..

regulator and stabiliser are two different component and function.

How different the stabilizer work than the regulator provide by BMW ? and I also found out most people who installed this stabilizer is concern about their audio "quality" rather else , may be I'm wrong ?

IMHO, the VS would yield better effect from an older car due to the aging components and wires. But don't quote me on this. Just my personal conclusion.

VS are actually a capacitor bank connected in series or parallel. In most old car, due to the aging of ignition high tension cable, there is a tendency to leak to the ground. this leak will cause erractic problem to your electronic due to the spike induced. By installing VS, you can reduce this spike as capacitor can reduced or smoothen the spike. If you observed carefully, the VS have various value for the capacitor. this is to cater for different type of spike or voltage variation. (I think it call "time constant" or "RC")

Grounding is an important aspect to reduce this problem. Just open all grounding point and wire brush the contact point. Apply copper grease. you will be surprised on the effectiveness of the type of work.

Note.. btw, copper grease is very expensive..

bro, if they are that confident, ask them to give you in writing.

btw, read the fine print... if there any.. Most prob take 6 months to refund..

And how would you be able to tell if there is any improvement by just 1 test drive.

eg.

1. improved FC.
2. Light brighter (shop only open in the day time) - how to compare
3. More pickup.. - very subjective coz use butt dyno
4. Sound system better clarity - that can be confirm on the spot..

IMHO, at least a trial run of 1 week to know some difference..

i have bought the VS from the dealer and yes the radio is clearly..less interference and starting up the car is much easier..throttle response seems to have improved and feels lighter..however thats all..dont believe all those crap about improved torque and horsepower they dont exist..anyway i am satisfied as there is great improvement in the electrical part for an old car..pm for price..cheaper than whats quoted in the previous post..and also the ones carried by eneos are already outdated..
