What i like most now is "SuperMotard"

What the hell is a Supermotard?.........First you take a little Motocross, a smattering of flatrack, grab a handful of road racing, dump it all into a Circus tent, mix it up, add some big balls, and that is Supermotard! For even more fun, slap on some lights, a plate, and take it to the street!

Sounds interesting?

That would be super-cool....all the sliding on tarmac and dirt with small and large jumps too!
Yes, dirt bike riding makes you a better street rider.......but make a mistake on a jump on dirt, I think you also pay big time......look at Adi Haslam, who I am sure Okow knows.

Supermotard? YES!!!!! I like them too and saw them 1st time on ABC TV - the race was at Carlsbad, California. Now they are run big time in Europe especially France.

My bike riding days anyway over but keen to try pocket bikes. Thanks TJ for your extra set of wheels!

Yes, pls do that Nik.....have to dust off my DAINESE..gloves & Shoei helmet! he he he

Abt the supermotard race on TV, I saw it in the 80s! If recall correctly got even up&coming rookie rider call Eddie Lawson! I so kancheong tpying this even forget to say this!

There's 2 parking RAMP that goes up to the parking. Only ONE of them (the one near Ibu Pejabat Polis Ampang ) will reach the 8th floor.

Both ramp are linked, if you took a wrong ramp, just goto the other ramp on the 6th floor.

bmwky ; good info. but need to clarify...there is a diff from "mini-bike" and "pocket- bike" ....mini bikes: are identical scaled down versions of the ori size bikes...10-17inch wheel diameter and mostly used by children and in races.
Pocket bikes are "fun"bikes...6 inch wheels, 30-49cc (lawn mower engine) Am I right to assume that this center runs the pocket bikes instead of the former?

Hello,

I had heard there was talk of the ampang track in BMW club forums and I was so surprised. Anyway heres more info

The track is on the rooftop of Galaxy Ampang Shopping Complex in Taman Dagang. Magnificent view up there ideal for drinks and such. The cafe is recently opened with simple drinks being served. There are 2 tracks there. One for the kids and one for real racing. Combined tracks are allowed on a case by case basis.

Club registration is nearly up and running as I type. We allow personal bikes. Only mini/pocketbikes allowed. The bigger ones, as some locals call it midi/medi bikes have suspensions and such, but lose on on speed and corners since they tend to have the same engines as the minibikes. Minibikes can have diff engines liek watercooled air cooled etc etc but the important thing to note is that we limit minibike engine at 80cc. Any bigger is not allowed for fear of customers flying.

For further enquiries feel free to pop over and ask for stanley or kevin.

cheers

I dropped by the place to check it out yesterday to gather some info.

Here's what i got:

It is a pocket bike circuit operating from 3pm to 11pm. Charges as follows:

Single Rider : RM20 (6 laps)
Group of 5 Riders : RM90 (6 laps)
Group of 6 Riders : RM100 (6 laps)

If you bring your own bike it's RM45 for the whole day. RM20 if you pay a membership fee of RM200 for a year.

Apparently, if we go as a club, a special deal can be arranged with Stanley. I have his contact number.

So guys, any prospect for a future event? I leave that to the bikers in the club :eek:k:
