Going to change tyres soon. Size is 225/45/17.I am thinking PS 3, Goodyear F1 ASY or CSC 3.Which one do you guys recommend. For daily use only, no hard cornering, sometime spirited drive. Quietness and Comfort come first, thread wear second.Currently using stock bridgestone rft.

For your info, I have used all three mades mentioned above, all excellent tyres. My preference: Goodyear Eagle F1, Made in Germany

Yes goodyear f1 ays is made in europe and PS3 in thailand.

ay39, do you mind sharing your review on the all 3 tyres? i heard goodyear is good, quiet and cheaper too but it doesnt last long.

csc 3 is about 850 a piece unless i go singapore and buy, around 460 a piece.

What about CSC5? Just came out. Check whether it comes in the size you are looking for, siuloong.

I have used Goodyear F1 for my previous cars. Excellent for wet roads/raining days. A bit noisy due to thread design.

Goodyear Assymetrical 2 is out. Basically it has rectified the shortcoming of the previous design, which has pretty high wear. My set lasted less than 6 months.

PS3 basically replaced the Preceda series, and the real deal is Pilot Super Sport.

i would rate CSC3 better than PS3 and probably on par with the Assym 1. The latest CSC5 is something else altogether, and the top range CSC5P (only in 19 inch and above) is as good as the PSS, if not better.

Yes Goodyear F1 asy doesnt last longer than Michelin PS3.

Goodyear F1 asy 2 will be ready in next 2 months but price will definitely be very high.

I think I will go for PS3 first and change to F1 asy 2 next time.

Is PS3 more quiet and comfortable than F1 asy and CSC 3? Can PS3 last more than 60000km? It's for daily use and no hard cornering. By the way I travel 150km - 200km a day, some time KL - PG - KL, KL - SG - KL day trip. The rft on my car now already done 54000km.

PS3 sounds good for your requirement.

CSC3 also has high wear rate due to the compound used. CSC2 has better wear rate but not too sure if still available.

Someone ask me to use nexen, very cheap and very long lasting very comfortable and very quiet. Anyone heard of this nexen?

I've used a few Yokohama's, Michelin's, Goodyear and to be honest, the WORST of all is Goodyear Eagle F1 (no doubt it's cheap). The Asymmetric might be better but I've never tried.

Quick-Save is the dealer for Nexen..A cheaper alternative tyre.

PSS too expensive and its a waste for normal daily usage.

Anywhere I can get Michelin PS 3 at good price?

I don't see how PS3 can be cheaper than PSS? :)

RFT can last for 54,000 in good. I changed mine at 40,000km.. My RFT is Conti

What about Hankook ? is it cheaper ? What model can we use ?

I've fitted and tried many tyres before in my past rides (although it's not a BMW but I believe it's still relevant :p). The problem with these cheap tyres are that the grip is definitely not as good as those premium brands. It will work if you're a normal driver but if you do a lot of high speed, cornering and wet roads, you can certainly feel the difference. Let's put it this way, if the product is really good, the manufacturer will obviously sell it at a higher price. Just like the saying goes, you pay peanuts, you get monkeys, haha
