I used a replica M5 chromed shift knob (made by Concept One : taiwan), its shorter by stock knob by about 1 inch when fitted. Nice a fat knob for shifting.
Looks great and good to use. Only one drawback, if you palm is sweaty when you wanted to shift fast, your hand will fly off the knob shifting from 2nd to 3rd, probably hit the aircond vents in the process. Happened to me a couple of times hehe.. Gets slippery.
Hope to resolve this with an E46 M3 shifter, on order. 40% less throw....
