Dear sifus,My 2 year warranty just passed and I'm now "exposed"... can anyone advice me what to expect in terms of the cost to replace wear & tear parts for the next 2 - 5 years? I know that the front & rear brakes will need servicing in the next 15,000km but what about major services? I've clocked 33,000km on my 2 year old E90... what is the mileage of the major service? 60k? 80k? 100k?Sincerely appreciate your guidance.

Your BSRI should give you another year free service.
After the two years warranty, i've got all sorts of fault with the car from, airbag-restraint system sensor fault, ABS pump (10k!), front seat knee extension clip, fogging headlights, battery/power cable harness, some i-drive harness, faulty cd changer, central lock fuse....
All put back in order on goodwill at ingress.

My first paid service is due very soon.

Ingress did all that FOC? How long has your warranty lapsed when all that happened bro?

On Goodwill I guess. After the 2 year warranty, still got 1 year BSRI, and those happened just after the 2 yr warranty lapsed . Those faults are not justifiable for a car just over 2yo anyway. I don't think it is fair for us to pay for those kind of fault. The last BSRI freebie was my rear pads two months ago. Now really exposed!!

I think it all depends on the nature of parts failure (such as defects) instead of wear and tear of parts not under BSRI.

you still have another year of BSRI left right?

Just try your luck with Ingress la. They very supportive of this club. Best go there with our club plate..

It not nice to talk about the "extras" we get from the any dealer as it might get them into trouble. Best keep them for TT topic. *hint

Hmmm... another 3K km more and I will be forking out $$ for my first BSRI-expired service. Wonder where shall I go? To an authorized dealer or not? Tough decision...

Same dilemma here... a specialist garage usually more personalized in service and maybe slightly lower cost.
Dealer - not so. they don't explain much about our cars. I just wish they do more instead just taking the car and disappear behind and not part of the action anymore. Some of us just want to see what's being done or tinkered. Used to spend hours loitering around workshop seeing things being done on previous cars and its very informative.

Will probably send to ingress first and see how things go.
