Pussy ..

I know laa .. my engine is old al-leadi ....
ladies & germs.... The Understatement of 2005....... got hantu under the 535i bonnet woor   ....old me foot....

pussy.. based on some of the opinions i've heard, the 3.5 has lower maintenance, easy to take care of and has plenty of torque. plus, a hemi engine with 2 valve/cyl sounds very tempting and prolly easier to mod as well later on.

al... u got one?

535... selling my car is probably not an option at this time. i just spent a whole lot of money to put it back to where it is and i can't see myself doing it twice in less than a year. unless i'm in it to make money.

there are a lot of e32 owners out there that are swapping out thier 3.5litre engine for 3litre engine. i'm suprised you can't find any!
the m30 engines are bullet proof but be prepared to see your petrol bills rise! you'll be tekaning the thing to feel the POWER! :)

Fuhrer, yes engine is, i think, the easiest to source. however, i would like to know the extra cost needed for the complete package, if i have to change them. i guess wiring, ecu, radiator and diff are must. how about prop shaft, brakes, etc etc? are these easy to get items? would they cost a bum or i might as well order the half cut?
TIA.

naza2,

i think the best option is always to go for 1/2 cut...

almost everything is there to swap... though good mech is 'a' must...

good luck...

naza2, why do you need a 3.5L engine ? for torque or hp's?

have you check the power difference between M30B35 engine output and M50B25 or M52B28 engines.. getting a old engine doesn't mean that more power or torgue.. using a B25 engine would also give you almost similar gains as B35, maybe a little more but wasting petrol if you ask me..

just my two cents..

regards.

I have to agree with Pussy.......what you see on paper does not necessarily feel like it in the flesh.

I assume that you understand the character of a long-stroke engine to even consider the M30. Make sure you have driven one before you decide. I have no problems with the M30 engine, they are bomb-proof and torquey...... just don't want you too be dissapointed when you are left behind at the lights by Kelisas............. :D ...........pssst: they are extremely thirsty as well.

nope....power doesn't come cheap.

Pussy...if you can't affford to play...dun say anything, for me the M30 engine is underated...it's a reliable engine.*cabut*

I've become collateral damage in an M30 skirmish........woit mr 535 tak nak bagi yr 2 sen ke?! :)

Waa 300nm torque ... worrr .. dun pray pray ....

Puss ... come lar .... NOT scared arrrr (Koko .. change a bit ur battle-cry ..)

As far as consumption is concerned ... not that thirsty laaa. I've spend RM50 KL-JB - high speed run . I think mine is cheaper than E34 M50 Auto ..

Power comes fr 3rd gear onwards .... 5th is really an overdrive. Normally I stick to 4th ... and wait ....
