Here in the UK, the roadtax used to be:

1) Under 1.6 litre
2) Over 1.6 litre

So you dont care how big your engine is, the only other thing to consider is the petrol consumption

But they're changing it now, not basing it on the capacity of the engine but rather the CO2 emission of the car. But still the highest roadtax you would pay is only £455

525i = RM674

530i = RM1877.50

Because of the RM200 discount on roadtax for 2000cc and above during RM2.70/L time.
Its back to normal now, I paid RM700++ for 2359cc.

Apparently the RM200 discount is one-time only, just as the RM625 rebate for vehicle under 2000cc.

It's true what isaccvky said...When i got the car, the previous owner didn't collect the RM 200 rebate and the roadtax was due on the same day. So when we did the change of ownership, that's when got the roadtax renewed with the 200 rebate for RM 674. Else it'll be RM 874.

Unfortunately that's only once-in-a-lifetime!....................for now

i think u guys are right. my road tax is gonna expire this coming may. maybe it will go back to rm2077 or rm2092 per year, this year.

most probably my rd tax rm1877 coz of that last year discount........

funfer, don't know whether to sell or not. problem is, if u sell e39, what car next to buy? i mean in msia? not many choices...... m5? i don't like manual gearbox....

my car nothing special. gold color (e46 m3 color), m5 steering (the one that e46 m3 uses one), no m-sport bodykit, stock standard springs (no more lowered coz susah mau gi hotel2 yg ada good spa.....hehe), bilstein b6 dampers (baru pakai 5000km), eibach anti roll bars, headlight adjusters made from alloy (so no issue kaki akan patah), change engine oil every 5000km, change atf every 10,000km, ada tire pressure monitoring system etc etc....

Yes it was around three years ago we last met. I also find it difficult to find replacement for my E39 525i. So far, BMW is not on the list. Probably, next change is gonna be an Audi. Porsche kalu, I need a Panamera. Anything with 2 doors, wife won't approve. Takut jadi jahat. OK, back to topic. You gotta help Supergripen. He drives an e60 525. He wasn't around when when you came to my house. Just like yourself, he drives really fast all the time. E60 525 is too slow for him. That's why he wants to sell this car. E39 530i will probably keep him happy for a long time. That day he came across one guy in KL who wants to sell his E39 530i 2003 M sport model UK spec with all the works - body kit, sat nav. Asking price was RM125K. I think the price is way too high. Mintak kurang RM1 pun tak boleh woo..I believe his ESS supercharger is meant for his future E39 530i. So brader, if you come across a really motivated seller please, please let us know. Thanks.
