we all wanna make sure tht this trip and many more i might add will be the 1st to be as hassle free and as law abiding as possible.

the better we all potray ourselves the better and faster the chances r of getting the ok from ROS kan?

if y'all want police escorts,its 2 jurisdictions we havta go thru 3 jurisdictions(aprox RM150-200 per police outrider)in total as we gotta cover sg.besi toll to seremban,thn seremban to melaka,thn melaka to jb.....

not worth it leh,unless we hav a distinguished member in the club! :nyehehe:

better we just send in a letter of intentment with the full itinerary for their perusal and ref.

Okay... this is my experience as a organizer of a convoy...

Sith, first of all, it is advisable to write a simple letter to Ketua Cawangan Trafik JB, N9 and Melaka (as we are passing N9 and Melaka on the way to JB) State clearly no of vehicles and date in the convoy. We might not need a traffic escort on the highway but definitely once we are entering the JB town. Tell them you need the police escort service once you are entering JB town. Normally in town, 4 kuda putih will help us to block the movement at traffic light. This will significantly make our convoy smoother..

BUT, if we need the police escort, we need to be very very careful as we are going to move like bumper to bumper at a constant speed of 60-70KMH. The rationale is simple. No outsider for free fast ride..

If you dont want to inform the police, We will definitely need to break into groups. I would suggest a maximum 5 cars in one group. But hey, I rather not to call it a convoy anymore...

Cool... Say Sith, Get Zamtresco to assist you with the JB side of the convoy and from here all you need is a convoy escort from your meeting point to the first toll gate.

This will all work out well if no cars pull out at the last minute...

guys.. this is only a small gathering. Let keep thing nice and simple.

Please try to keep the cost to the minimum. If it necessary, we break up into smaller group to avoid any traffic jam. We have done many convoy before with as many as 12 cars without any complication. Most of the time if the convoy break up (happen most of the time), we always regroup at a R&R or after a toll.

As for the accomodation, please informed to the JB rep whether you need a room booking.

The idea for the convoy escorts is for the 'GEMPAK' factor leh... and mebe quite important for JB side (don't want anyone to get lost there). No need oso can, just have to remind everyone to be on their best behaviours.

Yup, meeting after the toll is a good idea, just in case some want to try to collect as many samans as possible before reaching JB... :nyehehe:

10:30 am - or there abouts we will reach mallacca over head restaurant. Have a cuppa, hopefully I can get some mallacan's to join us for the rest of the drive down.

11 am - start to drive again.

12.30 pm - est. arrival in skudai Toll where Vanquish or Vladd will take us all to lunch....

2pm - we will check in hotel and then it will be free and easy till evening.
