Caught some pics of this E38 while I was sending my E32 for it's usual inspection.

Badge was 740iL...

But then the engine bay was open, so I took a peek...

yeah man... god pls kick the roadtax first!!!

Yes, the V12 is for the 750iL. I m sure you can get the specs right of from the WWW.

However, it's hard to find one good specimen here in the country. But in fact, I just saw one mint condition 750il (with the badge) running on the road. Beautiful condition. It's the flagship for the BMW. That states it ALL. :)

obviously the fella downgraded the car's title from 5 to 3 liters.

Ya la, I think so. I heard u have to pay around RM5-6k only for the job. For a 5l downgaraded to 3l, that amount can be covered for less than 1 year rdtax. I think 5l rtax would be around RM11k++, anyone can confirm that?

NGV conversion also gets discount on road tax... plus our boot space is huge enough to accommodate an NGV tank without making it completely useless....

Question = what happens with this "downgrade" when the car kena accident? Worst still, somebody badly hurt or even mampoi.....What will insurance do then if an investigation is run?? Am yet to see a 3ltr V12.......sure is a dead giveaway of some form of hanky-panky...no?

Insurance company will not admit liability. Driver kena civil suit and personally liable. Want to take the risks, must also be able to take the responsibility. Whether it's worth it or not depends on individual.

For me, I am happy with my little 728i. Anyway this little fellow can also give me enough driving pleasure and yet able to far exceed the legal speed limits.:)
