..as thread says..im wondering, does ATV fall in to legal vehicles, for use inside city ? Recently, I discovered that in Malaysia 50ccm motorbikes are illegal and cant be registered (what a shame, Honda Ruckus is made to crawl inside city, like everywhere on planet)...so does ATV suffer from same problem (not engine size, but..anything??) ?? Im talking about ATV such as this one :http://www.kawasaki.com/products/product-specifications.aspx?scid=1&id=660

Hurm.... perhaps, gov can't differentiate the "type of vehicle".. Nak kata motorsikal, ATV ada 4 tayar.. Nak kata kereta, ATV pakai handle and not steering :stupid:

The atv or quad bike if not mistaken it is illegal to drive it on the city road same with 50cc pocket bike that i use to ride when i was still in school to go to 7 eleven to buy ice cream and topup lol! and been caught by the polis a couple of time but they just let me go because they just wanna see the bike... Makes me wonder why the Atv is not legal to ride it on the road but not Gilera Fuoco 500... but Atv is legal in some countries

..but why ATV is not allowed, when from power/safety standpoints is way more better than this tricycle or motorbikes we see every day??

Driven ATV few times during my stay in Middle East surfing on sand dunes but going on d tarmac road is totally different. The handle becomes very2 heavy due to wide tires contact with tarmac surfaces makes u really difficult to steer. Plus, the throttle controller is not d same with other motorbikes...might be the reason why its illegal and cant register on d road

well atv is not that safe and heavy hard to meneuver people would buy a car rather than buying an atv... i've ride an atv before well it is good for off road ... but as for riding it on the road motorbikes is better ... Just my opinion..

I went for ATV ride abt a month ago at Kg Kemensah near Zoo Negara....It was one hell of a ride going thru the jungles. I was told by the ATV ride operators, it is not legal on the road bcos the ATV's are meant to be driven offroad (in Malaysian context, in the jungles). To drive ATV on surfaced/tarmac road is very very hard as the handle is very stiff & heavy (no power steering plus big fat tyres) & it is not meant for high speed. It is for low speed & high torque application & best driven/enjoyed in extreme condition offroads. So, no way u can drive it on surfaced road with lots of traffic/vehicle bcos it does not have the agility meant for surfaced road.
Below is the link for ATV ride if u want to experience one. Seriously damn nice & it was my 1st experience.

The Gilera Fuoco 500 is an awesome machine. Will even tapau superbikes going up Genting due its design features to battle corners so efficiently
