iPod sound distort

cld be the ipod.
i have similar issues with some MP3s synced to my ipod. Listening to them on the PC is fine. I thought it was the ICE but using the JBL speaker / iPod dock revealed the same. I also got different volumes from different songs on the iPod.
Not too sure how to fix this. Sorry bro.

when sync with itunes you can make all the music same volume level, it's in one of the options. it will stop the 'one song loud, one song soft' syndrome. choose this option especially if you're using ipod interface in the car..kalo tidak then can terkejut a bit sometimes

i've just checked my itunes setting, i've already tick the "automatically adjusts song playback volume to the same level" previously. and still the ipod sounds softer when compare to fm or cd.
and i couldn't find the "master level" on my ipod...

could be poor quality mp3s ..could be wiring of the interface.. could be poor quality of interface(you can check this by trying friend's ipod)
btw..if you're using the 'radio fq' type interface then it's quite common that the volume is substantially lower than FM or CD.

Are you using a fm modulator devise ? I had the same problem\.
This should not happen using the proper ipod connection supplied by BMW

How are you connecting your iPod to the stereo?
Is it via FM Modulator or AUX or iPod Interface?
If you say it is distorted even at low volumes, then it has more to do with the high level output from the iPod being connected to a low level input.
But if you say it is softer than the others, then the input is set too low. If you are using AUX, increase the AUX Volume on the head unit.

Actually as you mention the distort problem not only for ipod, the Head unit tem self if the frequency stronger frm outside also will distort too..
Sometimes distort will effected by frequency frm channel communication ...
But for me is small problem .. That's also reason why some of the transmitter selling price higher then the device.
As some member said the master vol. from ipod..
if transmit from ipod the most quality vol. are max 75% to 80% as i using exiting...

i think it could also be due to the way the recording was transferred to itunes. In Itunes itself, there are some settings (if I am not mistaken) in terms of what would be the output volume would be.
I found my iPod had similar issues before because some CDs were not well recorded (hehe pasar malam ones or downloaded from the Net) but no issues with original ones. Changing the output volume on the iPod will not have any effect if you are using the iPod connector and not the headphone output. Last option is to check on the input level on the HU itself.
