Superior protection for your car’s paintwork

yup....i've seen this product demo "live" in my company global product convention in US last 2 yrs. It is clear film designed to reduce stone chipping and bug damage on painted surfaces but not to protect the structural due to collision or hard hit. In tropical country like malaysia, yellowish is the main effect for all protective film over the time, but this product can withstand the consistent hot weather for at least 3yrs. From what i know, the application is meant to be permanent; however, it can be removed if desired.

Actually, there are two main product for 3M PPF.
1. Scotchgard PPF rolls - A high-grade, colorless urethane film applied to high-impact areas of your vehicle that take the brunt of damaging road debris. Excellent for hoods, mirror backs, rocker panels, etc.

2. Scotchgard PPF Films - A yellowing resistant, clear protection film for reducing stone chipping and bug damage of painted surfaces. Excellent for hoods, valances, rocker areas, etc.

This product usage is still low due to its price and it is aftermarket product which mean it is not built-in during car manufacturing. I think its wise to get it out now (if had xtra mooolahh), bcoz once auto OEM (Merc, BMW, proton...etc) using as built in package in their car, the product demand will increase and of course, the price will go up...as simple as that.....juz my 2 cents. :D

I've seen some high end cars with this type of paint protection, and I personnally think it looks really obvious, and hence, bad.

My neighbour obviously thinks so too, as he's just had the film taken off his C4S.

Aiyah, what's a couple (or in my case, MILLIONS!) of stone chips? It's a car, it's meant to be driven quickly. Get over it...

yeah,
can be pretty obvious..
on some i've seen before, the film turned yellow and you get dirt stuck at the edges of the film.

dat wuz alvin's on his JCW mcs, test product fr meguiar's :)

The stuff on Alvin's MCS is different. It was sprayed on and supposed to be temporary protection for storage/track days, whereas this xpel product is like a tint film for all year usage. I think it costs around RM2K (plus or minus) depending on application for vehicle specific pre-cut kit. In US you can buy in rolls, which of course is much cheaper.

So how much for a role? Anyway cars are meant to be driven. A little stone chip doesnt matter. Just drive your ride to it potential & enjoy it.

well, it looked quite obvious on alvin's car, n accordin to most in ere, it looked preety obvious wiv Xpel thangy as well, so i wld skip on dis. :)

btw Mr. O, had an early start on saturday mornin issit? :)
