Hey sifus..I was wondering if it's possible to fit an aftermarket tachometer on an E30? Pls advice!!

Definitely....cheaper too. Only problem is to find a good space in the cockpit or around it to place the tacho. I am also thinking to doing something similar but with the water temp gauge

whoa, you wanna rev high eh?

can be installed but why ah??? wanna add the tokumi style 11,000rpm rev meter??? ;)

hehe..wanna add to the interior looks..but not rev like takumi la..need engine transplant first =P

Roger: I've found a space to fit as my tachometer isn't the super huge one hahah..more or less like the one you see in takumi's car...kekek

Fabian: I called up my mech to ask whether it can be installed, he says not ngam with the car technically (didn't bother to listen much as i think he's bs-ing). I called up another person and he sed that he has to see first. Is it that hard to install? compared to normal cars, to install a tacho in an e30 that complicated ka?

Thanks for the advice so far guys.

Can go fast fast wor. Hehe Its good to know you can tell when your mech is BS. Seem to be getting a lot of BS technical advise especially from Kch mechs ah.

yeah ...lol..anyways, got it done already at an accessory shop..for RM50..and i tink it's a rip off..

their reason: continental cars have diff wiring etc etc..thus being a risk to install...blehs

well..at least i got it done and its working fine..

yeap...;) Installed just to monitor if my original revs handle is showing the revs as it shud be.

I installed an autogauge tachometer abt 2 years back cos I had a 4 pot meter on a 6 potter. It was fairly easy to install.. 1 wire to the (+) of the coil, 1 wire to (-). 1 wire for lighting.. and maybe 1 each for earth and ignition switch. Anyway, took it out after I found the chip that turned my meter into a 6 pot meter. :)

hahah..interesting. My tachometer so far working well...suits the interior well too i reckon. hmm..planning to install a volt stabilizer soon..any recommendations? How much does a volt meter cost?
