Any simple way to increase the acceleration of 6 potter engine? please share your opinion and guidance for benefit of others as well.

Sprint booster doesn't increase the acceleration it's just amplifies it giving the impression that you're going faster.

Yes it will help but it's pretty subtle actually. The car will learn your driving habits and will adapt to your driving pattern hence if you drive it slow all week long the car will feel a bit sluggish when u want to drive it fast. The throttle adaptation reset will cure that immediately by clearing the adaptation values stored in the DME (and maybe EGS too).

take out passenger seat, back seat, spare tyre, sure can feel instant increase...

or manual gearbox conversion...

or overhaul the engine with balanced piston, conrods and crankshaft. Throw in a port and polished cylinder head.. sure can feel power increase and smoother too...

Sprint booster amplify the throttle signal, like when the pedal travel is 20%, it sends the signal as 50%, giving you the impression of 'better pick-up'... but actually all u need to do is step harder without the sprint booster...

or like bundy suggested, change to a higher ratio rear diff... definitely better acceleration, but will get higher RPM at your normal highway cruising speed and possibly lower top speed.

It will improve throttle response definitely and it doesn't affect FC. It all depends on how heavy is your right foot :4:

Actually you don't lose top speed la, more so with automatic cars.

In my old jalopy (e34) even with a higher diff (3.64 vs 3.25), the engine revs at 2700rpm at 110km/hr. At 220km/hr it will be 5400rpm, with plenty of revs left to reach 240km/hr.

For the ///M, still able to hit 285km/hr with the higher diff with a couple more hundred revs to go. With the ori diff also no better. Its just that with a higher ratio I get there faster

Our BMWs are not designed to be an outright pocket rocket so the final diff ratio is always a little lower, more for cruising comfort.

I need more HP!!! hehehe....

howabout aftermarket air induction kits (K&N, GruppeM, BMC etc.), lightweight pulleys, high performance extractors/headers, custom exaust, okada plasma coils, and of course lastly ECU remap...

can also consider replacing the intake manifolds, using stroker kits etc.

bare in mind tho, the one that overrules them all = supercharging..

get lighter, loose 5 % or 80Kg. Rip out the seats, carbon fiber bonnet and booth, smaller lighter rims (magnesium), low rolling resistance tyres.
