ignition coil always fail

Hi sifus,Today again my ignition coil fail and cause my ride to vibrate. After changing all of them last 3 months, now the thing fail for the second time. One of the coil fail last week. I dont know why this thing happened repeatedly?. Any advice?. e46 2.0. Thanks in advance.

From the day i get the car i never change my spark plug yet. it's about 2.5 years back. I get the car at 65k mileage and now its 110k. I'm also thinking the spark plugs need a change. Am i right gendong?. What's the lifetime of the spark plugs bro?. How much usually the spark plugs?. Thanks

Bosch spark plugs from BA RM17 each only...try changing them first. You only need 4 of them right?

Yup. Spark plugs is only the case is it?. I will try to change it. I'm concern of other things. By the way bro, is it ok if i drive the car with 1 coil fail. What i know it is ok but no power. Is it?

It's ok to do so. Car will be running 1 cylinder less & lost of power. That's all.

Have u test the suspected failed coil? U know which coil fail? U know how to test the coil?

Iridium spark plugs recommended replacement interval is 100k km. All other spark plugs 20k km.

I will go to my mechanic tomorrow bro. They will test with computer. 1 other way they test the plug manually. They will try disconnect the coil and if nothing happened that's the coil which faulty. If the car vibrates when the disconnected, then connect it back come to normal, that's not the coil. Is it?. Hopefully it's only the spark plug.

Yes.. also, to isolate the spark plugs and coils, inter swap the coils, no need to remove spark plugs to run this manual test.. easy peasy.. :4:

Try to diagnostic the air from the MAF sensor ?
Faulty MAF sensor will effect the car vibrate.
Like missed fire in one of the CYCLINDER.

Today change all the spark plug and replacing 1 new coil and servicing also. Hopefully all going fine. Besides that 1 bottle of REVO additives. Have anyone trying REVO?. How's the performance?

It's the spark plug. It's from the original BMW Brand NGK. No replacement have done before. I change to BOSCH. Now car get smoother as it fully utilized the ignition. With REVO also it get smoother, engine reduce noise as well.

Wah terer la u bro, changed coil but not the plug. I use platinum oso I change every 40k km max. Sometimes 30k. So far nvr had a chance cost underutilised the car and sold them. BTW whose your mechanic anyway? How frequent u change oil then?

Platinum plugs memang last 40k km only. Unlike Iridium, tahan 100k km.

My original NGK plus lasted me 180k km. Did not realised until 1 of the original coil failed a month ago.

So lucky. 100k mileage change the spark plug. My mechanic is at Setia Indah. Hon Yong Performance. Ex Auto Bavaria Mechanic. Change oil every 5-7k.

Since we're at it, any performance-related benefits when comes to Iridium Plugs apart from longer maintenance interval? They costs like RM40 per pc. Normal plugs are only RM15-20 per pc.
