While I applaud the efforts of the IAD committee to initiatite 'the best of ' awards, I believe that specific rules and guidelines MUST be explicitly stated before any nominations are made in any of the categories.Right now, it is TOO general and has a very 'aloof' feel to the whole thing. Please detail the categories and merge them all into one common thread for awards and nominations. There are too many stickies in this section of this forum and it is giving me a blardy migrane!

Aiyo, Mr. VP attend the meetings and give your constructive input la. Talk is cheap bro *cabutz* :p :D

I think that you should really learn to read what my posting is trying to say before you post up immature inflamatory remarks that make you look like an arse...

Well, if you have read (which obviously you have not), this issue already brought up by Jarance before and our member in charge JPB has replied and explained his reasonings. Now who is the @$$?? hahahaha :D

I'm sorry I've been away from the forum due to a hectic workload this week. However, I'll be quite happy to help sort out any problems as soon as I can. Firstly, I'm unclear as to what is implied by "aloof". Please clarify? The various categories have been detailed in the title of threads and I thot this was quite clear. The process has also been stated in the first post of each thread. I regret having to start so many threads based on the categories but having to balance my time between my hectic work situation and this service, I could only come up with this method in the short time I could spare. Perhaps, my clarification to Jarence may provide more insight to your uncertainties.

It's easy to criticize but giving constructive advice requires more effort. I would greatly appreciate the effort. Thanks!

Yup, I think the IAD committee is doing a fantastic job despite their hectic work schedule. Let's join in the meeting to assist them and provide whatever help we could to make it successful. :)

BTW when is the next meeting.. Let trash out the problem there over a cold one.

MY POINT IS THIS: There are no clear guidelines and criteria set for the various awards that are being proposed. How to nominate anyone when these basics are not laid out?

Have not been checking the IAD Awards threads, but have heard from a fellow member that he was surprised that his car was nominated under the modification category. Perhaps the ///M emblem contribute 20hp..... Heard this just last nite.... ;)

I guess with no proper criteria for nomination, anyone can just shout out a name....

Thank you........finally someone who understands what I am getting at.....*sigh*

These are the criterias or qualifications that I have painstakingly set out in the various threads. I understand there may have been some deviation but it could be cos some ppl choose not to adhere. In any case, incidences of inconsistency is only a minority since over 60 ppl have made good nominations. If anyone of you feel there ought to be more qualifications, pls feel free to state in under the respective threads. If they are valid, I'm sure the working committee will consider.

For the category "Best Modification - Performance", please nominate who you think has the best modded car for performance. This can cover speed as well as handling performances. You may derive your experiences from track days, private tests i.e. Puchong International Drag Strip etc or other experiences.

For the category "Best Modification - Cosmetic", please nominate the forummer with the bestest, baddest, meanest i.e. the most striking, whooooa factor, I wanna hump ya baby car in terms of cosmetic modifications.

For the BOS category, please nominate the forummer with the nicest and most well maintained "stock" car i.e. no additions or substantially with original BMW enhancements only.

For the "Best Classic or Vintage" category, please nominate the forummer with the proudest looking classic BMW, taking into account factors such as rarity, originality of components, maintenance and chic-appeal.

This "Bestest Thread in The Forum!" category invites your nomination for tje forummer who started the most insightful, articulate, painful, dramatic, mind-boggling, most laughable and senseful or senseless thread in the forum.

The "Bestest Technical Contribution" category invites your nomination for the forummer who provided the bestest technical contribution on the forum.

This category for Bestest Avatar invites your nomination for the forummer who has the most provocative, memorable, imaginative and eye-popping avatar. Time for you guys to look at the boing boings more closely to determine the most all-rounded best avatar...

This Bestest Tagline category invites your nomination for the forummer who has the most provocative, threatening, memorable, imaginative and can't get it out of my head tagline in the English Language or Bahasa Malaysia or adaptations of both.

Fabian, the incident you refer to contravenes the criteria I have set out but I certainly don't appreciate how you have attributed it to no clear nomination guideline when there was one but it was just not adhered to. I suggest you retract your statement cos it's quite ill-conceived.
