116i experience

I took the 116i over last weekend and clocked about 240km driving on highway and in KL. My overall experience are as follow:

1. Road holding is good - max speed travel is approx 140kph as the car only have 180km on the mileage. Cornering is very good too.
2. Aircondition cooling could be improve ...
3. The driver seat should atleast have follow the shape of human body as it is to flat.
4. The roof is to low for proper seating. Only few inches away from the roof after proper seat-steering-roof adjustment.
5. Steering is heavy especially parking and town driving. My should had a good workout!
5. Rear visibility is poor and got some blink spot. Expect for sport hatch like this.
6. Rear seat - no comment as i was driving.
7. Fuel consumption - too much for 1.6L engine but considering the weight of the car, this is expected. I consumed approx. 25L and travelled approx. 240km.
8. Noise level is acceptable at 90-110kph.
9. The fabric quality in the car is not too bad but i always preferred leather.

You made you own conclusion ...

Your fuel consumption not very good for a 1.6 le!

My E90 320i is giving me the same FC 10.4L/100km and can do better if cruise highway!

Yeah, I love mine too.....I personally like the 'welcome' light on the door handle very much. Feel warm when I go back from work late in the evening.

hahahahahahahah   farniee la u grace  well guys wouldnt it be nice if we can get together again and share each other opinions...... :4:

My opinion on my 118i:

PROS:
1-Start, Stop button. Cool and it is operated by a small convenient key to be carried around in pockets.
2-50:50 weight distribution. Perhaps good handling?
3-The BMW badge. So much to pay for.

CONS:
1-Underpowered. When you need that instantaneous power, you don't get it.
2-Lacking of interior space. The glove box is so small that the manual can hardly fit. The back seats are horribly small and uncomfortable. Rear-wheel drive... takes all the space.
3-Noise. The run flat tires are so noisy and the hatchback cover thingy makes lots of noise while crossing uneven roads.
4-Heavy steering. Since it doesn't go fast, what's the point with the weight on the steering?
5-Side mirrors. Practically everything is this car is small. And, so as the boot capacity.
6-Lacking of power seats. Most car these days have power seats but this Bimmer doesn't. Fabric makes it worse!
7-Rims. Too small and a not good looking design.
8-CD changer. A 200 grand car with only 1 CD changer. There are only 4 miserable speakers.
9-Looking at it the first time, it looks pretty odd.
10-Halogen headlamp. A Xenon would be better.

Other 200 grand competitors like the Volkswagen Golf GTI or maybe the Honda Civic Type-R, it is not hard to tell which is better.

These are only my opinion, for those who would like to get one go with your instincts. :thrasher:

bro, the facelifted version are way much better in terms of interior and a few others, my 120i sports edition came with semi leather for the seats and yes it does come with HID light ..

But i totally agree with u about the power seats....
