Guys, i'm getting fed-up burning CDs for my car 2005 Hi_Line E60 with CD Changer, please recommend me any other options to go for? What i've tried:-FM Transmitter Linked to iPhone FM Verdict - Bad sound quality, messy cable when charging. What i've heard can be done:-1) Retrofit to latest iDrive 2) Install a AUX cable from the iDrive? Please recommend me thanks all sifu sifus!

I found a place in Singapore that does a full retrofit of our current E60 i-drive to the latest ones like in 7 series or F10. The cost however is approximately RM13-14K (after SGD conversion). If you don't mind spending that much, you can try it out :)

Darn. That's a hefty solution la bro...ekekke. Luckily I don't really care about music when driving but I use my BB linked via the cigarette lighter and aux in wire (attached on unit) into my phone. Not messy at all. Sound quality much better compared to just tuning to a FM transmitter frequency as I used that before as well. Trying to recall the brand as car not with me now....:) but I cannot... ;p

bro. am not sure whether you have a cassette player in your e60, but in my e46, i used the SD Card Cassette Adapter For MP3 and it works perfectly fine for me. CD sound quality and most importantly, no messy cable... on top of that, it can be double as a stand alone MP3 player and sd card reader. More info, goto: http://cgi.ebay.com/Car-Tape-Player...er_MP3_Player_Accessories&hash=item2a0ec502b9

FYI, I stored around 100++ MP3 in a single 1GB SD card.

hope this help, only if you have a cassette palyer in ur UDM....

Sigh no cassette player.

Just CD and CD Changer.

Bro Damonzero,
Since you are just like me who hate burning CDs... do it just like me!
Install Multimedia Interface (RM2.4k) + aftermarket DVD/USB/MP3 player (Kenwood, Sony, Alpine, etc) for about RM1.3k... plus upgrading the software (if you don't have "Audio Aux" in iDrive) for about RM300-600 (depending on location and people)
It's a little bit expensive but it's once and for all solution... now I can listen to my extensive collection of songs via USB (I'm using 16Gb Kingston now :4:)

I see...

Will i lose the iDrive function? If i go with this mod what do i gain/lose? i.e no more cd player? but with dvd player?

And the small screen can watch dvd? i doubt it, the resolution is so low.

Thanks.

the iDrive screen should be able to watch DVD.. and good thing is that you won't lose iDrive function :top: they will install a separate button in order for you to change screen to DVD/MP3/USB player. I thought that all you want is to listen to songs??
Nothing to lose... except for your $$$ of course :4: it really depends on where you want to install the player.. I installed it in my glove compartment where the CD changer is located and additional sensor as the remote can't detect signal in the glove compartment. I have seen those who installed under the existing CD player... but you have to cut a hole in your existing aluminium.wood trim

bro, this hooks up the music from your phone only. Not to the idrive. That's why I said el' cheapo method :) Sound quality ain't bad but I am no audio phreak. I can live with static and sometimes not even switching on my tunes until I reach the destination and only realize that...eekkeke.

Cheapest solution RM23.90 cigarette lighter FM transmitter :) I use that for my E46 as the CD changer has gone kaput

Tried, like i mentioned on the 1st post, the sound quality is unbearable, 100x worst den FM.

Just have to purchase it at the IT shop located in Midvalley and plug it in your cigarette lighter. Best part is I use the in built USB charger to power up my GPS right above it :)
