How to iPod my car?

Hi guys, is there anyway I can connect my iPod to my HU on my yr 2000 e46? I understand that only 2002 models onwards support iPod. Is there any aftermarket product that my iPod my car and allow me to control my iPod from my steering?How much would it cost? And where can I get it and fix it?Thanks in advance.

There is a Griffin cassette adapter called

Griffin Smart Deck apparently going for RM129. haven't seen it anywhere yet but should be available soon.
This will allow you to control the iPod tracks form the steering wheel... The thing that sucks is the wire hanging down.. and there is no display of the tracks on your head unit.

It will sound better than iTrip or Airplay Extreme.

Looks good... but you probably have to bring it in yourself.
I guess this plugs into the AUX in of the amp?
What head unit are you using?
Mine is the Navigation unit....hope that won't pose problems installing it. Probably have to run an extension cable to the front.

I am not holding my breadth for someone to import this....
