I am satisfy with my e39! What car else that u can compare with the price tag rm100K? Even it is more than 10 years car, but i still love it so much even compare with Camry and Accord.

Yes, we can not deny that wear and tear part is kinda high price, but...when u decide to own a 5 series, u are ready for that, right?

i must agree with bmw7833, i've owned e34 520i, e36 325i and now e39 523i....ready to spend some cash for wear n tear and other ageing parts..i just love owning bmws, and will not stop loving as the new models are just too tempting...so good luck guys...

after use e39 525i msport year 2001 for few months...

for me oklah.. fuel consumption ok, handling n suspension ok,.. everything all stock msport

but i tak puas hati with the msport suspension ( i dont know what brand ).. i bring my family 5 person in the car.. if i drive trough some bonggol or bump at the road.. always "sskkkeeeeetttcchhhhhh" under the car.. have to take some coner jauh skit... baru ok.. using 17 inch m rim.. 2**/45/17

compare with w210 same year.. advangate spec.. with 18inch 2**/35/18 with sport suspension bilstein.. for 5 person.. is better drive in bump area..

when cornering... not stable in 160km above... handling berat than w210..

the interior not much or many button.. not like w210 friendly use..

but for seat, i like the e39 semi bucket seat.. more confident when driving fast..

the braking system.. e39 more better than w210..

the space.. w210 is larger than e39 that sempit...

engine comparison with 525i 2500cc doub vanos inline 6 vs e240 2600cc v6..

time pickup.. w210 win..( e39 slow respon when in gear 1 auto )
time long drive.. same.. ( but compare during drive fast.. e39 more respon n the rev is quick than w210 )

for me..

w210 the driving pleasure is better than e39 for young man that the size n looks more younger n sport design.....

1. Your e39 absorbers already koyat. Mana ada e39 conering tak stable at 160km?

2. e39 is designed to seat 4 adults comfortably. It is a driver car that is why they called it "The Ultimate Driving Machine". Want bigger passenger space, buy an MPV.

3. Pick up or acceleration. e39 525i with 192 hp 250 Nm vs e240 with 166 hp 225 Nm. How can e39 pick up be slower than e240?? Your e39 525i engine not up to specifications meaning ada components defective/ not working.

4. e39 dashboard and controls are sleek and contemporary in design.

i got my e39 since february 2008 and todate i think i've spent not less than 10k...just to change all the wear and tear parts..but lucky me since the was once owned by a company chairman..so i can say the car was in a good condition when i bought it..overall..i'm very happy with my ride.

Very the happy... haha actually its my brother who got a yr 2000 528 last year (Traded in his 3 year old Altis).. did spent around 12K on wear and tear etc.. now she is a joy to drive...

160kmh hantam corner, still comfy no issue's ...

honestly, i hv never driven such a big car which can give you such great confort and handling at once!!

Hi everyone. It's been awhile i have been in this forum. Soon i think i will be official member in this forum as i just confirmed purchased the e39 523i year 2000 uk spec and the loan has approved today. Hope this car will bring goodness to me and not worried in maintaining it. As previously i hesitating in getting e60, somehow rather i guess i'll start with e39 first as i am just a middle income earner but wanna own bmw. So hopefully all the bro's and sis here will help to assist and guide me on the parts that needed to change as i guess 10 years car sure have wear and tear needed to be replaced. Anyway, hope to get this car soon after raya. Cheers

hi tkm, dont worry too much about maintaining e39..just spend yr cash on the necessary parts first, eg get a full service n check yr suspensions , tyres,if necessary..mine comes with multiple warning lights n i managed to get rid of it one by one..so prioritize in maintaining yr car so that u wont feel burning a big hole in yr pocket..:top:

I hope they will do what they said but somehow rather the dealer is quite honest to me so far. Yah, i will re-check again the necessary things need to be done. Btw i am staying in PJ area. I have searched around the previous postings in servicing the car. Beside M1, any other place that are reasonable for us to go and service and advise by the mechanics on the parts change gradually? yes, its true..i'm all after japanese hondas n toyotas before..now keeping an estima as my family ride n loving the German masterpieces e34, then e36 n now e39 523i..disappointment is inevitable but the love just grows stronger after i replace certain aging parts..need to prioritize the car maintenance so that u won't feel bad at all..i'm gradually doing it to keep it fit and alive stronger..ask the big sifus in the forum for more info..cheers:top:

I drive an e39 since 2005 , 523 SV , and it had never let me down so far. Maintenance wise, be prepared as you are driving a car that represent 'sheer driving pleasure'' . What else you can ask for . BTW , my car is 13 years old uncle and i still dnt have any idea of selling it.

For which car you can find such a lengthy testimonial?I dnt remember one .

I am still waiting for my car to be ready collect. The car still in the repair and full servicing mode by the dealer. Wah, bro shiva73, can share at least some good enjoyment in driving your e39? At least can make us newbie here feel excited in owning one...

If i ever wana list it, perhaps will take pages. My advice is , once you get your car , beat the soul out of it on the highway and then controlled driving on federal road and then slow phase on bumpy road.

As i said before , i just cant make u satisfied with my words as it may turn illusive . Get behind the wheels and feel it for yourself , but i am enjoying every ride of it , especially on the highway .
