I checked out HotBits b4 getting my H&Rs - the salesman revealed that the e21 springs by HotBits come from Intrax, which is quite well known oem maker.  Not very well known for performance/tuning suspensions, AFAIK.

On the other hand, H&R are OEM for Porche ;) :nyehehe:
Hotbits made by Intrax!! sound like major Salesman BS to me!! When the last time a salesman did'nt BS....If Hotbits got Intrax to make them, then it would be just about the first time a well know OEM maker made an upgrade for a small local tuning house..

More likely HotBIts makes it stuff at some small factory on the outskirts of KL...

Basically DON"T use anything and I mean ANYTHING (tires, filters, etc etc) locally made for a quality import like BMW. Our local standards are just not designed to handle the weight and tolerance these cars are build to. ISO 9001/ 9002, TUV approval included etc. etc. After all JRD are TUV approved and they still bend on jsut about every 3rd pothole!!...Use JRD rims & you can ISO 9002 your way to the closest RIM repair shop!!

conversely I realized why my 1984 Porche rims where SO bloody expensive - they used Titanium in the spokes and lugs!! .. guess you get what you pay for!! and yes country of origin does count so lets face it - our Country is tops for Nasi Lemak but you can forget automotive engineering flair& standards

BTW I've used locally made "branded" brake pads on my Alfa GTV. Most stupid thing I ever did (beside consider the purchase of a Potong - sorry I mean a Proton) and almost went off the road at my first corner (kid you not!!). After I switched to an overseas brake pad - mintex. that no longer happened. ironically mintex cheaper than our local pads!! must be our corrupt policiticians at work.

IMHO: I used Latz lowering springs RM700 for mye34. made in W. Germany, corners great and ride is taught but not harsh.

Oh yeah!! If you want to talk loca automotive engineering standards TT me. I'm the guy who reviewed and closed down Protons bolt & nut supplier in 1999. If you could see HOW they make bolts and the quality control (or lack off) you would NEVER and I mean NEVER want to sit in a Potong again!! ekkkk
