Felt weird when accelerating from stationary. Plugged in my diag software n got 1 error code. I believe it got something to do with oxygen sensor. Any idea what need to be checked, before deciding to replace the sensor?Sent from my Dell Streak

words in picture too small to read. Can type out what is the error code?

Sorry..posting from phone. P0056 Powertrain HO2S Heater Control Circuit (Bank 2 Sensor 2)

If pre-cat O2 sensor not functioning, then could generate such error code. But my mechanic also suggested that can take out the O2 sensor and try to service/clean it up. If after cleaning, still same error code, most probably malfunctioned.

Indeed bro, but sometimes it's not the sensor but its heater since O2 sensor only work at high temperature. If the heater malfunctioned, you just need time for it to heat up, but before that readings would be wrong/inaccurate

Thx aidilj, morrogan

I found sometimes when i reset the fault code, it was ok for a while..kinda intermittent.. Will try to clean it, if i managed to find it. Lol

If i have to replace it, can it be done by myself? I mean plug n play? How much the sensor costs anyway.

You need a special tool to remove the O2 Sensor.

owh! then DIY is out of question. haha...
anyway, can the tools be easily found at hardware shop? never seen that

Just to share, problem solved simply juz by jacking up the car, tightening the cable hanging underneath the car, with a sensor going into the exhaust pipe (or whatever it is called). i guess it s the sensor cable. i used cable tie to tie it to the car (no more hanging). The warning light/error code no longer come out. I guess loose cable caused the error, n the symptom (car engine feel like dying off when hard acceleration).
Problem solved with no cost incurred. Thx for the helps anyway!
