Genting w/ UDM - Not advisable?

Not advisable to go Genting with UDM. Is that true? Make it the 3-series UDM, not X-series

If you mean mechanical or reliability issues, don't see any problem with any BMW in good condition climbing up Genting...

Ur huh? Why? Don't see why there is a problem of driving a 3-silli up and down Genting. On the contrary, I would luv to power drift round the bends. Different feeling than driving a FWD and left-foot braking/pulling hand brakes at the corners.

One must drive within his own limits and not do anything silly. Of course knowing how to get oneself out of unwarranted situations is an added advantage. But when the road is wet, be extremely careful. The road will get very slippery. Was caught out once....

i dun have one. sorry if you feel offended at my frankness. coming back to your question on "From engine bay view..."... perhaps you can share what do you actually mean and what you heard?

i seriously have no doubt udms all can make it to genting and back without any damage to its engine...

Well what I was saying was... a whole bunch of 3 series went up to awana on Sunday. and we had no issues etc for 1 spin due to slippery roads(coming down not going up)... the rest of us were all fine... so my comment was more of a giggle then anything, as we all had no problems going up in all the 3's (including a 316)..

2) engine bay view - Try driving a merc W128, Mazda Efini Rx7, and see the engine bay view...trust me, that all you'll see, the engine bay, not the road.

From the view point of the engine bay view? I think my SLOTH (E34) is worse than the E36. It was worse before I lowered my front...:rock: . And I do not find it a problem driving up and down Genting. In a way, it all points down to driver skills and how well you know your car (well, try to park as close to the curb as possible without hitting your lower bumper and you know what I mean) .....

i've been lot of times up & down genting with my old E30 not having any problems.. reliable machine. maybe only you are refering to breakdowns.... one of my friends got it due to overheating E36 coz by the radiator bocor...

I looked at it is mostly if your car maintain well should not be problem travelling to "uncle lim" tear & wear is part of the vehicle maintenance... so always check b4 travelling long distance...

happy driving. i made it with my old e30 and started from SP at 1930 hrs. the only thing, i was "knock out" by empty lorries climbing up hill. they knew all the corners......sh*****t......
