From thestar today..Thursday May 26, 2011Fuel prices to remain for nowPUTRAJAYA: Malaysians need not worry about any new increase in the price of RON95 petrol, diesel and liquefied petroleum gas as the Government has announced that it is keeping the current rate for the time being.Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the decision was made with the people's interest in mind.He also stressed that the Cabinet's move had nothing to do with talk about a pending general election. In other developments:> Economists called for a minimum wage council to protect public interest;> Barisan Nasional Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin described it as a people-centric decision; and> Consumer groups cautioned that government subsidies would eventually have to be phased out gradually.

until after the GE. then back to runs to nasi lemak stall only :D

Very pandai la kerajaan Malaysia to win the rakyat's heart.. See the steps:

First step; Tell us harga minyak will naik 3posen... Rakyat kata: Haloyai.. naikla harga barang
Second step; Tell us that kerajaan try to fight with global oil price and subsidies to pampering us
Third step; Tell us that kerajaan xjadi naik minyak, and this is a "big contribution" made by kerajaan, rakyat patut bersyukur
Result; Next GE u'll see the result la kawan~!!!

They dug the hole, and close it back, and ask us to bersyukur.. bijak~~ bijak~~

very standard operating procedure..next hole to cover is the rare earth plant....hooray and damn it at the same time.

Fuel prices will eventually go up. The govt needs to bite the bullet and transform the economy. Piece meal solutions don't work and just prolonging the inevitable.

Few years back can get a can of beer for less than 5 bucks from 7 Eleven, now its like 6.50. My regular economy rice is not so economical also, used to be like 3.50 a plate, now its 5 bucks. Government said inflation rate is still reasonable at 3%, but in the real world, it is more like 30% over the past few years.

bund, the worst part is u see all the big cc high end cars on sabah/sarawak plate. all play discounted r/tax. or worse still share vip number plates. where's the fairness in that when 20 yr old cars worth less than a set of their rims have to pay full price, and the multi million cars get away without paying squat.

do away with tax, big loss of revenue to govt. but everyone pays the same petrol price. maintain tax, slowly reduce subsidies, the rich n connected still enjoy special privileges and govt gets tax from the rest. which to choose ar? :)
