lol... it's true... I just step on the pedal whenever I want to feel the oomppphhhh :top:

if I want to save fuel, I'll drive my wife's Honda City with i-Dsi engine... about 10cents per km :D

i also like the sound- oooohhhhhppppppppppppmmmmmmmmmm~~~ syoik, this is an ultimate driving machine ma.. hahaha

i wonder if fuel price right now is rm3 per litre, we'll have a different story ... :)

Well, i don't know m52 or m54, mine is 2004 UK Spec...

I don't lap my car at all, very cautious driver; some of fren actually laugh at me sthe way i drive, they said i should've bought a Myvi the way i drive instead of a 525i :)

as mentioned, 400+/- km for a full tank, i would be opening a champagne for celebration.

like that better take ur car for inspection...normally if u drive cautiously and without hard acceleration and braking then u should get around 500++ km...

2004 e60 is on the M54 engines...

Here in KK roads are just horrible, no place for us to speed. =(. Maximum I've done is 140km/h and I don't dare to push it any further.

ok..sure i sign, u drive and u pay...:top:

You sign full amount in cheque ma.. then I drive lo.. Hehehe.. My friend used to say this.. "I sign the papers now, I take the car and my future kids will pay for me next time" hahahaha..

It's a really good car, I think it has one of the best fuel consumption and which was agreed by a mother's friend too. Full tank easily goes 650km. I travel alot but I often get stuck in kl.. but lowest it went was around 590 - 600km.

but when getting caught in the jam.. ngek ngek ngek. good luck. ;)

At times when I don't go out too much, just home, office.. daily. it's good for 6 days.

after numerous calculations, mine is around 18sen / km that was when fuel price was 2.70.
now i dont know, cause e60 went back to the bf's hand. lol.

e60 525i should register better FC due to the extra 15 hp..

BMW's engines are all award winning, engineered to operate in top optimal efficiency with the help of the Double Vanos and what not.. and the entire front section of e60 chassis is aluminum to reduce weight, magnesium alloy engine block and magnesium bolts on the engine block (lighter than plastic), on demand electric water pump, on demand engine oil pump, electric power steering too? LEDs, HIDs, these are all to help channel the engine output to the wheel and if this car is not efficient, what is?

bro even with all the space age materials on the front of the e60, the front weight is still heavier at about 850kg and rear weight of about 750kg...it is near 50:50 weight distribution nia at unloaded condition...so with driver and passenger i think it can achieve the perfect 50:50 weight distribution...but still at excess of 1600kg unloaded weight, it is too heavy for the 2.5litre engine to be fuel efficient...the best engine and chassis combination would be the 3.0litre engine which is on paper better in fuel efficiency compares to the 520, 525, 540, 545 & 550.

Lately... when stuck in the stupid traffic jam, I have been using Steptronic transmission to shift gear instead of relying on the automatic gear... the result??? Quite an improvement compared to automatic.. as I can shift the gear up quickly without having to rev it too high... now I can get about 500-530km in city driving :top:

Sorry off I'll go off topic momentarily. Please excuse me. Just want to find out if the gear starts on M2 when yous are on Steptronic? Mine always starts at M2 though I can put it into M1 though.

the answer to your question is YES! :D But you can always switch to M1 if you prefer a faster acceleration :top:
