Front Axle Support

Need help here. Can the rubber mounting (locked by nut no 6) be replaced without replacing the whole thing (item no. 4)? Thanks.

Yes it can.It's called a balljoint by the way.I have asked the spare part shop b4 and both ball joints (item 6 and 5 showing the nuts......hmmm sounds funny)can be replaced individually.

the ball joints are about RM50 each.... advise to replace all 4 of them at one go... Did mine about 2 weeks ago...

If your car is using normal cast iron arms, then no problem.....however if it is aluminium as in the later models then the whole arm has to be replaced!

Kev, can these cast iron arms from the m20s b replaced by those aluminium ones? :unsure:

You can get them from the US but cost a pretty penny!

better go to one with the pressing equipment... so that they wont have to waste time ti send to another place to press out the old ball joints and then press in the new ones...

just thot u might want to cosider this

The one is polished steel is with PU insert, the black one is the ori lower control arm bracket (lollipop) with M3 offset rubber bush.

the one in polished steel is RM250 a pair
