Shell Flushing Oil is a "flushing oil' itself, right?

I had been with this stuff for 3 years...any difference...dunno?? Can't sense it.

the shell flushing oil is just a low viscosity grade base oil. it has some/minimal detergent addictive and solvent added to aid in the removal of gum/sludge from the internals but IMHO its just too little to remove all the contaminant from the internals by just letting it idle for a few minutes.

for a similar price, get a bottle of diesel grade engine oil like MObil Delvac MX or any other brand with the same bmw recommended oil grade, remove you old oil and replace it with the diesel engine oil and run it like normal for a few days prior to the actual oil change, the diesel oil will do a better cleaning job than the flushing oil. you engine will work fine just dont rev it to redline for a long sustain period. diesel engine oil has a much higher addictive package added in than any petrol base engine oil which helps to clean your engine off any sludge buildup. this works better and is safer on your engine seals than any of those tiny bottle add on engine flush that mostly just have kerosene as its main ingredient.
