got this via mail ...not sure how true is this To all those CDs lover pls beware!!!.Please do not keep any pirated or burned CDs, DVDs, or VCDs in your car.Police and Domestic Trade & Consumer Affairs Ministry's enforcementdivision in Malaysia have started the operation to search and fine anyone who keep pirated disc inside their car especially through road block at all main road and expressways.If any pirated or burned disc found inside your car will be charged RM400 per disc. Example 30 discs found means the fine will be RM12,000.This is real. Another friend of mine from Seagate, today duringlunch time, 5 CD x RM400, 2K lor........One of the Plexus colleague brother-in-law caught by Police due to pirated CD in the car on the way to town for lunch with his friend in the afternoon.One CD fined RM400...oh no..Please disseminate this to all your friends who are driving in Malaysia !

yes you are allowed to copy and compile for personal use...no cop can charge you for that...just ask for the summons and fight your case in court....then again..with whats happening in our courts these days..dunno laa

ask them to show search warrant from court order , in order to search your car.
You can ask them go hell if they don't have one.
Lock the door of your car. If they force to open, call cops, lawyers or political people.
Media is a good choice too. Record the process with movie/picture using your phone.

They can stop whatever,whenever they want in our bolehland and of course most of the time without a warrant...theres no value for warrant here since warrant should come out from a court...and i dont have to eloborate more about our court ler...i guess the officer will start smilling once u ask him the warrant...pandai pandai kau thim lor..or just keep the pirated discs away from the car at least till the operasi over..

This is all about our attitude tho... when we do wrong, always find sorts of reasons to deny, when people or whoever did, we hentam them to the longkang!!! did you guys think its cool to have fake things on you, such as fake watches, fake sunglasses.. fake brands for yur shirts, shoes, belt... cd's.. True what u've said about the fakes around us bro, i guess what Initial M tried to point is the ori's are too expensive in the other way drives ppl to go for fakes...even our bimmers are marked up just to cover protons as*...why dont they loosen up the original stuffs so more people can enjoy the good stuff...:top:

Yah! must get rid of the CDs, so not worth it because I hardly listen to CDs (see the mentality here.. ), only radios for me most of the time.. and I do not support pasar malam pirates, I go broadband if need be..:listen:

Buying the CD is one thing but 100% of the time, I only need 1 to 2 songs from the album, why buy the CDs la.. why can't they sell singles here, with some unplug mix for the singles within the disc, that'll be great!

Just like when govt encourage or force us to use seat belt, people will ask..

Some even holding the belt with their one hand. I ask why don't want to buckle it up? They say uncomfortable, they hold the belt because don't what police to catch.. meaning many of us wear belt JUST BECAUSE don't want to be caught, so wearing has nothing to do with safety. Reading books because exams.

How to disable the E90 seat belt alarm eh?! DY has corrected me on the alert timing, its 1 min 30 sec, after which it will deactivate for this time one time. Thanks DY. :wink:

Hahaha I guess u must be from the Authority ya. My point is simple if the thing is not available at the 1st place would it be this issue? If the ori is not too expensive would people go for it than pirated. I'm not saying Malaysia not good or all the authority not good. For eg not all policeman not good & take bribe. But looking at their income & cost of living I dun mind giving bribe to them as long not excessive. I buy many fake things coz cant afford ori. I can only afford 2nd BMW coz tired of owning expensive Proton all this while. Sorry again bro life's sucks. That's why wa selalu jalan jalan cari angin kat singapore.

All CD's in my car are CD-Rs which I LEGALLY burned for my own personal use from my own collection of original CDs. I don't care who these MIB think they are, they have no right to accuse me of having pirated CDs. I will cooperate if they ask me nicely, but if they try to foist any false accusations on me, I will see them in court and I will look into all options including suing their pants off!

I am getting very fed up with all sorts of infringements by the powers that be onto our rights (civil, religious, human, other rights etc). It's starting to feel more like a authoritarian communist state than a so-called multi-cultural parliamentary democracy. If this cannot be solved favourably soon, I may have to explore other geographic alternatives.
