I really like the performance of 320d... and about to place a down payment..Before I do so.....appreciate advice from all owners.... ThxSleepless Gunso

you can't go wrong with the 320d. sure it isn't perfect, but there is no substitute for that variant from other makes. no regrets from me.

Thx mizhan ,
It's actually not that bad right? Apart from driving through puddle of water

I have no regrets with my 320d as well. The problems are there but its not something that cannot be solved.

However, end of the day its up to you. It all depends on your interest.

I got the 328i on early Sept and I was equally afraid of those problems you mentioned. But when i got it, surprisingly theres no rusted seats, no knocking sound, ecu malfunction or loose tail lights. The wind noise is still present though because of the design but can easily overcome it if your music is loud enough. Of course, running through water puddles still scares me.... just make sure the water level isnt too high and go sloooowww....

i'm happy. my seat brackets not rusted; even if they are, no real big deal for me.

3) Loose tail lamp
4) Wind noise after 100kmh
5) ECU Malfunction during heavy downpour
6) Water ingression causing engine stall

Got my 316i in November:

1) Rusty Seats - Non-detected (so far)
2) Suspension + steering rack noise - Am hearing a bit of this emanating from my right rear suspension. Will drive in to SC to check soon.
3) Loose tail lamp - Happened within 4 days of delivery. Changed immediately by SC.
4) Wind noise after 100kmh - Is still there.
5) ECU Malfunction during heavy downpour - Hmmm.....
6) Water ingression causing engine stall - Alas, can't teach our F30 to swim
7) Water leaking into driver cabin during rain - Hmmm.....

bro......perhaps a change of mindset is required. instead with "whats wrong with this car?" kind of approach even before you even purchased it.....why dont you come from an angle of "WHY AM I BUYING THIS CAR?"

my guess is, even with the known issues that has been highlighted, well....they guys are still driving their cars.....right?

Thanks Guys..
That's really comforting....
Because from the replies... I can see its worth the purchase... despite of those issues...

Hence the only major concern here is "water ingression"...
I supposed driving in the rain is fine right? as long as we avoid any possible water puddles....
Anyone got issues driving in rain?

I would also like to share my experience with everyone here... ( just my 2 cents )
Test drove the below cars:

A4 Facelift 2012
Experience :
Very nice.. comfortable and smooth (CVT).. power only kicks in at "Dynamic" mode... "efficiency" and "Comfort" mode feels slow.
Solid built quality... 4 yrs warranty... peace of mind..
Downside : A4 B9 launching 2015

F30 320i
Experience:
Well nice... A4 is more responsive as compared... ( I could be wrong... as its just my very own personal experience )

F30 320D M Sport
Experience:
Shit!.. I need to get this!

i booked the car then only i read this forum :( going to receive my car in wednesday.

I think most ppl will agree that the car is worth getting. Its a beautiful car... I don't even drive my A250 anymore and even if i see one on the road it doesn't put a smile on my face... on the other hand... I still look twice at the F30 that i just passed by.

P.S. 320D M Sport. Dont think. Just do it!

CKD bro, i think those early birds only having problems, im sure they improve onwards. Sometimes, i do not believe other complaints bout defects, it depends how the owner driving style too. My 2 cents, hehe.

Water ingression is a big concern indeed. If we have a good containment plan, then the rest are no morea major concerns. In fact problems like wind noise, steering cranking sound and rusted seat can be or have been resolved.

most of the F30 drivers that i know , drives the car to the limit without any issue ..just like the tag line " drive it like you stole it "

the F30 320d m sport estoril blue .. FTW ...i cant afford to blink an eye each time when i see this ...so far no any pretty leng-lui's driving it yet ... :)
