F30 316i at RM209,888

At RM199,888 it will compete directly with the new A200 ... definitely gives the F30 an edge since it's in a bigger segment.

Haiya, this could be bad when it comes to 2nd hand price as most dealers would normally benchmark the lower spec even yours is at 320 or 328..They will surely tekan the price down somemore..Even now also there been some hush hush that the car price is coming down and beemer should also look at repricing to compete with the other makes. A200 can be a diff segment altogether but it does influence the beemer future market.

Bro, it has to be plain, less feature probably and give less excitement. Otherwise the 320 & 328 buyer will be very unhappy by paying 30~80K more....haha..

But this give more option for those who just need something better than uncle Camry/Accord.....but no need fast sprint. A small engine for city drive probably.

I supposed they have to tune it to 135hp so there is a sizable gap to the 320i 184hp, otherwise 320i can't sell if this 316 is pushing 160hp.

They r doing market segmentation.. in this case offering the cheapest & slowest model in our market.. some might even call it a lady's car.
