Just wanna asks all sifus here.Had placed an order at Glenmarie for 520d on the 1st week of Aug 2011 & finance had been approved on 2nd week. On the booking form it was stated that the car will be delivered in Dec 2011 or January 2012.Is it normal it takes about 5 to 6 months for a new local assemble F10 to be delivered?Sorry for the noob question as it is my first experience with continental car. Thanks

yes, it is usually takes about 5 to 6 months, but also usually u will be able to get the car sooner then that in view that now is almost end of the year, some buyers would prefer to get a 2012 manufactured car rather then 2011...

my bro in law also have to wait so long for it so i advised him to wait till next year. Most likely most who opted for next year would most likely get it after CNY

F10 Selling like hot cake eh...

I thought those days where even a Honda Civic needed 6-9 months waiting ( 93-94) were long gone . Mom bought one then
The W202 C class waited for another 7 months in 1997.

Since the economy crisis then, car waiting period has dropped significantly.
Satria GTI 2001. 2 Weeks
Toyota Corolla Altis 2002 3 months
Proton Waja 2002 3 weeks
BMW E90 2008 2 weeks
VW Polo 2010 2 weeks.

Sign of econimc recovery ? that so many people are able to afford the F10?

With the tightening of belts (worldwide economic crisis!-money so small these days!-u know the price of groceries now?Price of TNB bill every month??)-more and more people are looking for more fuel-economy cars now-hybrids and for the driving-enthusiast-diesels! If youlike to drive your cars fast and rough-diesel is the ideal option. Even the sportiest hybrid-the Honda CRZ is a let-down i read in reviews. if you like just plain fuel-economy and no-kick-no soul driving-get a hybrid. Paralysed in a wheel-chair type of driving. If you still insist on petrol. Go pump MR135 ringgit every 3 days.

Docrayboy.. You definitely an ambassador for diesel fuel!!!

Too bad, Sg tax system works in a way that Diesel cars are much more expensive to buy and maintain.
Diesel fuel here equally expensive compare to the petrol..

I am Sure the 535d Will be back of your mind one day!

F10 520d is selling like hot cakes. When it was first introduced here, people were quite afraid to get it i think, but now the confidence grows and the waiting list is long. When our OM TI-Tan got his 520d early this year, it was only about 3,4 days to a week waiting time, I guess its his luck.

I couldn't tahan waiting for anything, I bought Sg Besi's first showroom display model. After paid deposit, they locked the cabin hehe.

All cannot tahan...all got premature ejaculation problem here....ha ha!!!

Hey guys

I just got a call from SA that my 520d is coming next week. (Sep 2011 batch)

My house reno isn't yet done until 2-3 months later, so I'm in a dilemma to take in the car or just wait first for the next batch.

I read somewhere that for 2012 EfficientDynamics model will be introduced with ECO-PRO and other fuel saving features.

Anybody knows if these will be coming to our shores, and when?

Thanks!

There's a car sale report published somewhere (I can't remember, maybe paultan.org) and F10 is indeed the best selling continental model so far. Next runner up is probably the E-class. However these figures are solely based on authorized distributors and not inclusive of AP recond units.

Fantastic kenfoo! U can pass your car to ck318ci or bgx. They cannot tahan! Sometimes getting the 2012 ED mode lis a double-edged sword because you lose on the performance when they downtune the engine. Already the 520d in its current guise is a real winner when it comes to fuel economy.

I don't mind having the Oil burner.....
Bro kenfoo, leave ur car in Sg, I ll look after it as well as my own

i remember when i placed my booking, the SA printed me color and availability, certain color will get faster, mine is silver and schedule to get by November.
other color october and december.
looks like they produce by batch based on color, also 3 unit per month if i'm not mistaken. for 520d.

audi and merc facelift also about 6 months waiting period.

6 months of sleepless nights and excitement waiting for the new car to come

u bet bro hehehe... u're not alone.

Thanks bro, anyway i don't mind the car MY 2011 as long as it is delivered as promised. Had a bad experience with other brand before. Promised 2 months and further extension 3 months and at the end I've canceled my booking.
