Just my thoughts...

Fernando Alonso - He may want to win it again but if Schuey gets it right, Alonso got no chance. No doubt he is good but if he keeps the long hair, it may get into his eyes during the race and spoil his chances! (unless he is like 'badang' or 'samson', where the power lies in the hair)

Kimi Raikonnen - 2006 will be what, his fourth year in McLaren? They are almost there but don't think that he will win the championship. But they have a good chance at the Constructors tho.

Michael Schumacher - If they get it right...they will once again dominate. Very efficient team if they can get the kinks sorted out. But he wont have Barichello to help him anymore!! :(

Juan Pablo Montoya - He has the fire but a bit too hot headed. Mebe not 2006.

Jenson Button - Great person, superb driver but don't feel like it is his time yet...

My vote goes to.... MS

Since Adrian Newey has just left Mc Laren and joined Red Bull Ferrari, I think Mc Laren will struggle throughout 2006 to develop their car. The MP4-20's speed was largely attributed to him as the MP4-18b & 19 was not designed by him and was slow. MP4-21 is his work, and will be quick from the start but I think will struggle through the rest of the year in development.

My bets are either Renault or Ferrari now that tyre rule changes have been brought back into favor of Bridgestone... I also think Massa will give Michael S a good run for his $$$$.

With the new V8 engines, I won't be surprised if BMW is able to spring a few surprises! BMW has plenty of experience with V8s and so does Mercedes, so I think it will be a little premature to rule out Mclaren as well. As it is, 2006 will be another good year for F1 enthusiasts :)

:( Sad,sad day for Mclaren buffs out there...the departure of Adrian Newey to greener pastures. But on the bright side, McLaren were already expecting his departure,so I bet there's an able replacement for him in the long run.One that has worked under him all these years.
with Newey now at Red Bull, interesting too see how he applies his Midas touch over there. Red Bull were quite competitive at the beginning of this past season and throughout the year they were consistent. In my opinion, they could give BAR a good run for their money.

I personally think it has more to do with the extreme working pressure at Woking. To McLaren, anything less than a constructor's or driver's title is a bad year. Situation is much relaxing at Red Bull as they are still a relatively new team with lower expectations. Seriously no one will put a dime on them to win the championship next year. And with them using Ferrari engines, I don't expect them to challenge for any honours as well. Basically only the factory owned teams have the resources to compete for honours!

Also takes a reputable technical director 2 seasons for his presence to be felt on the grid. 2006's Red Bull car is already almost finalized without the inputs of Adrian Newey, so he'll only start making a difference in Red Bull in 2007/2008.

This was also the case with Mike Gascoyne and Geof Willis when they joined Toyota and Honda respectively.

Who's gonna be the Technical Director for the BMW team? Really hope they start fighting for top honours soon! Go Heidfeld!
