Engine gone...sourcing new heart

Sorry for my ignorance if this topic has been discussed before, I have a E46 320 (2.2L) M54B22 engine with ZF 5HP19 automatic gearbox.

my question is :
- if a want to swap to M54B30 engine is a plug a play operation ?
- my gearbox will work without any modification with the new engine ?
- do I have to do more change ?
 
That is how i will do it.. and there is one manual halfcut for sale heheh and it comes with steering box not rack

E39 V8s all come with steering box, no space for rack down there.
 
saw your e39 at optimum yesterday..very thick spacers u have there !
 
He he. Havent paid a visit since i sent her last week. My home way too far. Those spacers are for my 17 acs type 1 racing
 
with that spacers i still can't find and rubbing marks at the tyres...so can i say the coilovers does it job well?
 
All the best bro...you never get too bored with M54B30. Do make sure you will not get Japan-spec'ed ECU or you'll end up like mine with 210kph speed cut.
 
What is the damage for changing the engine? Seems like all the B22 would like to go for B30.
 
Mine is CKD E39

@yazmeen, the DnD coilovers so far so good, no leaking but the ride is bit harsh, my PRS E30 much much comfortable than this E39 if langgar lobang :D But if you thinking of amik cornering at 180kmg..then DnD will do its job.

My advise, go straight to DnD official installer at Sunway, dont go munlee.

There's few friends on e39 using DnD and never look back despite the brand is heavily associated with thier JDM cars.

bazet..what is your e30 setup...and how is it compared to Bilstein B12 presuming youre not using B12..Coupe?

My E30 suspension setup was done by prev owner at PRS puchong/ekuine...so IDK :D
 
Bro bazet, I saw your car just now, they're mounting back the exhaust. They did the manual conversion for me also. My advice for you is get the 6sp manual if you can. I'm stuck with 5sp and breathless at highspeed, any how my ride won't go beyond 210kph so I'm cool with the current 5sp and rear diff ratio.

seewai...you can always go lower ratios in the diff. helps on the top end. 6 spd is nice, but would be a e36/e46 box which has no ori ds, which some dont want. i went from 5 to 6, and yes, the 6th gear is v nice :)

When you free help me jack up the rear, rotate-rotate roda kira diff ratio hahahaha?
With regards to 6sp, I thought can use 540/M5 6sp gb mah, then maybe belakang use M5 3.15 25% lock diff as well :p
