M3 for me. It's like a classy woman who is confident in her own skin. Doesn't need the low cut plunging neckline trick.

GTR, a bit trying too hard. It's got that look at me, look at me thing going on, commonly associated with er... ladies of the night?

IMHO la...

my thoughts exactly.

the GTR is a fantastic car. good for the track. but for something to drive from home to work and everywhere else, i think the M3 strikes the right balance of performance and pleasure.

Good for you bro.. enjoy the car! then move on to GTR... with Carbon fiber prop shaft.. and supercar performance figure..that is just insane... some journalist even called the GTR "baby veyron" .. how cool is that? to have such a car :smokin:

I agree man. At the end of the day tho, they all both nice cars. Maybe I will just have to own both (but one at a time larr) :)

as for me i would like to choose the GTR....Why???
coz i think its the best Japanese car build up to date untill today....
and coz it can beat up the M3 easily without problem as what they tested in the Autocar recently....
But...........if u would like to have a car that is practical for daily usage...then i would like to go for the M3...
Just my 2 cent opinion.

Totally agree! The GTR is a full second faster to the century mark and as per CAR magazine was 3 seconds ahead of M3 on the track. Mofaz is bringing in 5 units. Too bad I can't afford one at the moment

If for track use, the GTR wins, definitely. The GTR is a 911 Turbo killer, so the M3, even the E92 M3, is not a competitor.

For daily use, I wouldn't know. I have a feeling the GTR is quite easy to live with, but if reliability is an issue, in the long run, the M3 should have a slight advantage bcoz it is naturally aspirated. For Malaysian roads, I would go for the GTR bcoz it has 4WD, therefore easier to tame in slippery conditions.

In the final analysis, there is very little to choose between the two. It is a matter of personal tastes and inclination. My believe is anyone who bought anyone of these 2 machines will in the be an avid fan of the car. Both are excellent cars with it's own character. Massive egos are massaged everyday by driving these cars.

GTR is a bloody devil when it comes to parking, saw one trying to park for almost 15 minutes in Bangsar, so damn difficult.. even the valet lepaks, let the owner park:biggrin:
Conclusion, if I'm thinking solely about parking the car I'd def buy an M3:thefinger:

dint know this thread still goin on so much..
the more youtube videos on the GTR whacking the 911, tht's convincing enough to make anybody who's out there looking for a quick car want one..including maself!!..ahaha..

went to Naza last Thursday, all 7 units sold according to one of the salesperson. The new batch is comin in by September with new price tag of RM768k nego. And according to him also, only 2 more units coming in.

Went to Mofaz to see the dark gold colour GTR.........cant sleep for days! And one thing tht make me real sad is when i tried to ask how about buying the car in Langkawi, since my hometown is 45minutes ferry plus 30 minutes driving away..and u guys know what,...the car is goin for RM400K.

RM330k for duty??!...thanks to Proton and APs!..

well tony..thats the real price tag for the GTR..its about 440AED here in dubai.damn it really looks fierce...especially the ones in black...

So u mean if u buy the car in Langkawi its only RM400k? Duty free? Wow.

When do you think can we start to see recon GTR-35's here in Malaysia?

Jkay,

exactly. I think same goes to Labuan. So i went to find out more about having a car in Langkawi, which u dont have any race track or highway to run, what if u wan to bring the car out to Peninsula....

1) there's a certain deposit for the "KASTAM" in the form of bank guarantee that u have to pay before getting the car out from the island.

2) only 30 days / year which the car can be out from the island is allowed!

3) u pay almost only 30% of the road tax compared to the normal.

4) and if u decided to bring the car out to peninsula one day, u will have to pay the duty. RM370K duty as for now tht we know, perhaps there're way to make tht figure goes down abit.

5) best thing is, the bank agree on laon upon the local market price of the GTR as there's no official price just yet. Perhaps we can get the loan in stanby for the duty paying in 1-2 years time.!!!

well....paying the so called duty will save u the above trouble accept for (3). Do u think is worth it?!!:smokin:

oh ya,

since we're still in BMW forum, i've asked the price for some Ms to be owned in Langkawi if u want to know..hehehe...

1) 2006 Nov Manufactured E60 M5, Mileage 2k++.....RM380k!!!!!!!!

2) 2006 M6...........sigh....sedih la...RM420K......

WOW thats great prices!!! Yes same goes for Labuan, but trouble with Labuan is, theres NOWHERE TO DRIVE haha....

How about if the cars been there for years (just say 3-4 years), when you bring it out, u still have to pay full duty? Hmmmmm ideas lol......

if my memory serve me right,u need to drive ur car at least 5 years to bring it out to main land.

correct me if im wrong

Jkay and 5115,

enquired tht also. U can bring the car out to main land as soon as you want. Just have to pay the duty and it will be done.
Ppl leave the car there a period of time just to make the car value cheaper when they declare later, in which, there are many loop holes in all these rules..

adliz,
ya, just bought a trader and most of the M5s are goin for 5-600K++...

After thinking about it, between the GTR-35 and E92 M3, I'd prob go for the M3 at this moment in time

Yes the GTR would beat me in a race, yes it would be faster, but that doesnt really matter to me. I love both cars, but theres still something about the BMW marque I like, esp the ///M series.

Then maybe after I am satisfied with the speed of an M3 I can go for the GTR, but then where do you go from a GTR?
