Hi there,I'm new in this forum, posted my introduction in the newbie section already.I'm planning on getting the 335i Coupe soon, and i'm wondering if anyone knows who and where i can get it converted to a M3 (just cosmetics) exterior and interior, without touching the engine, would be greatly appreciated.if anyone in Malaysia has done so already, how much i'm i looking at and what would i be changing? Thanks.GriMmiE

Oh, since i don't own a 335i as of yet. Is there any issues with this car i would be aware of before buying it?

better know now then later, any help would be kindly appreciated.

You can always try visiting the Sunway area [Exotic Mods etc] for mods.

If you pick up a copy of Motor Trader and flip towards the back sections, there are always adverts for those interested in conversions [i.e: E60 to ///M5 look etc].

All the best.

i think GC motorsport or motorsport division has done a few conversion jobs if not mistaken...try PM marcochen..

by the way, mind sharing how much did u bought your 335i? :)

Most of accs shop in sunway can do it bro. You can try check the price at Redzone, racingfit, motorsport division and also GC motorsport.

I havent bought it yet, i'm planning to do so in the next few months.

Just gathering information about where i can get these things done, as i'm from Sarawak.

Thanks guys for sharing the info. much appreciated.

Thanks Ansonsoo,

I also wanna ask. The 1st pic you posted, the bumper and the black diffuser is it? or lip? not too sure what is what. Don't know all the lingo. but that's what i'm looking for the bumper with that exact black diffuser/lip is from the M-sports package?
yeah to answer your question, I really like the M3 very much and plan to get it, but Sarawak roads are not very good and i can't test to play with the potential of the M3. hence i thought of converting the cosmetics and going for the 335 coupe instead. All the BMW Dealers here keep telling me to get a 320 which is sufficient and the 335 is too powerful.

But thanks guys for all your help.

I do have another question, if you guys could enlighten me with your experience as i never really mod my cars.
In this Youtube Vid

Questions.
1. The kit featured here is M-Sport ? Yes?
2. Does the Exhaust of the Stock 335i Coupe actually sound like that?
3. Stock i know what that means but what is aftermarket actually mean?
4. Any recommendations to what i should add to the car? in terms of ECU or any other parts?
(As i will be going up to KL to purchase the car and get all the necessary things done before i ship it back to Sarawak, as Sarawak don't really offer much mods or parts)

Cheers, and thanks again for everyone who replied me here.

Yes, this is M-sport version, rear diffuser come together with the bumper, is not add on. The picture i attach actually also from normal version convert bodykit to M-sport, bumper side skirt only, what i read the write up. If you want to convert to M3, then your hood, fender, rear fender how you want to make it wider ? Use fiber ? Or cut and paste M3 wide fender? Roof change to carbon fiber?

The exhaust i can't help, because i dun have 335 bro.. What item you want after market ?
Bro why you buy in KL ? You buy brand new?

Actually, do you like to speed? Performance? If i have budget, for sure i will go for M3, is not the matter wanna race on the road, the matter to own it, drive it.. Talking about Sarawak no road to speed, for me doesn't matter, i dun need to drive 200km/h all the time, the moment when i launching/pick up the feeling is enough good for me, trunk road easier over taking also !

Is depend what you want bro, if you want performance, go for performance. If you want only look, then actually 325 M-sport coupe is good enough, 320 a bit under power i guess.

No really need to mod the car, may be lowered it, rim's or exhaust. Unless you wanna race with someone bro..

Cheers..

Thanks Anson,

Yeah i prefer the look, i cant speed even if i wanted to in Sarawak's Horrible Roads.

Yeah i actually wanted to buy the M3, the problem is whether it is practical for me or not here in Sarawak.

Then there is the point where the road tax and insurance comes in, why pay so much for that car when you can't fully enjoy it.
Yeah the 325 is under power a bit that's why i'm going for the 335.

Hahahhahaa my racing days are over :D i just want a good ride. i used to have a NSX type R and a Skyline R34 in Melbourne about 3 year back until i came back to Sarawak.
So i'm just waiting for my house to be build and i'll get myself a bimmer.

I'm buying in KL because i want it modded there before i shipped it back to Sarawak. Sarawak not much modders here and i believe people in KL have more experience and have modded such cars.
whether i'm buying it brand new or not will depend on the price when i'm gonna buy it and the fact if i mod a brand new one i might void the warranty on it. So i probably might go for a recon.

I did call around KL to ask about the price to convert the 335 to a M3 i'll post it here (Tell me whether its a bit costly or do you think the price is about right?)

* Note : The Car is already in Alpine White, not a full paint job just the parts being installed.

- Front M3 Amuse Ericsson bumper wit CF splitter
- Front matte black grille
- Genuine M3 fender grille
- Genuine M3 front hood grille
- Genuine M3 side mirror
- Genuine M3 rear bumper
- Vorsteiner M3 rear bumper CF Diffuser
- Front hood knocking (M3 style)
- M3 Amuse Ericsson side skirt
- Rear boot spoiler
- 4 x Titanium tailpipes

Total cost for all the items above with installation and paint = RM 26,000+-

So what do you think? is the price ok? and they tell me it takes a month to complete it all. Is that about right?

Thanks Guys, you guys helped me alot. i Appreciate it so much

Bro Anson, Heard that you were looking for the M3. Have you got it yet? Mind sharing?

Woh ! I didn't really mention in the forum oh ?! Because not yet get anything.. Still hiccup on selling my current car.. sigh..

Hi bro,

In Sarawak, roadtax cheaper than KL almost 70%, why still worry 4.0 V8 ? Insurance no choice have to accumulate your NCD 55% lo. Bro you from Sarawak which state? I'm been Kuching before, look kinda ok what.. Transfer state even more fun if i'm driving M's !

Honestly, RM26k for all the parts, should be reasonable what ?! If really a Genuine parts. But the rear arch how ? knock it become wider ? Why front hood need not to change ? Really can knock it become bump head ?

Bro i really no idea for this conversion la, hopes relevant kaki's can help you to check ..

Cheers bro

Well aside from getting myself a 335, i promise my wife i'll get her, her Merz SLK 200 Convertible and i'm driving a Merz E240 now. And currently constructing my house on a 1.5 acre land, So i'm burning a big hole in my pocket already.
Thats the reason i'm considering whether whether i should get a actual M3 or just settle with the 335.

yeah it does include the rear arch, making it wider and the front too. Yup and plus the genuine Front hood, No they replace my whole hood with the new one the original M3 hood. LOL :D
so i have no idea whether is it really worth it or has anyone did this conversion.

Since you very satisfied the parts they provide, if you like it why not, go ahead.. Make sure the job are nice done, don't regret later thinking of M's V8.. Haha.. Look like i'm very bad bro, always push you go for M's... sigh... Because i really love the emblem..

 Actually, I haven't heard my own car exhaust from the outside, as I've never had anyone drive it off while I'm standing outside. :)

It does look like the standard exhaust in the video, and it does have a nice growl when I start it up.

Hhahahahah ... anson your funny bro. Don't temp me. I have alot of holes in my pocket already and you know what i mean !!!!!

Kamion - You should let someone you trust drive it and stand outside and let him zooooom pass you and you tell me, but some frens told me the stock exhaust is quite loud.

* - Iceberg "If your reading this your mail box is full i cant send you anything !! LOL ...
