Here my problem

Gear slam at 30km/h 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 2nd at low speed. (Gear starts at 2nd gear)

1. Done Adaptive Transmission Reset at every gear @2000rpm on Highway
Gear reseted but not helpful.
2. Done New Gearbox firmware updated
New firmware is smarter, if accelerates harder it avoid shifts at 30km/h. But from time to time whenever you go housing area it will jerk
3. Send to check Mechatronics solenoid and check transmission, found
1. ATF not enough (added)
2. Connection (socket changed)
3. Mechatronics OK

Doc, a few questions if you dont mind
- how much atf fluid was drained and refilled? 6.12liters rite?
- which sockets were changed and part number?
- you disassemble the mechatronics i assume?

They refilled something like 100ml( very little amount) and what type of socket...I have no idea
Done in Quill under Ricky.

Also I need to flush the ATF myself outside. All BMW DO NOT Recommend to flush the ATF.

The socket is known as "sealing sleeve". Refer to item no.1 here...http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E...mission/ga6hp19z_mechatronics_mounting_parts/

It is quite common for small amount of ATF fluid to leak from this sealing sleeve. During replacement of AFT fluid, said sealing sleeve is usually replaced together with the plastic oil pan & filter.

So those experienced transmission jerking can try to flush ATF and replace the sleeve with new oil pan. Insufficient ATF can cause gear slam especially at low speed.

For those who experience transmission gear shift jerk, can go to top up the AFT oil first, cheap and easy fix.
You buy one Litter RM45 only.. And go to the workshop ask them to pump it full and check if any leakage...
if you got leak from the socket, next step is to change all the oil and socket sleeve as well as oil pan (RM253)

Greetings Doc, where would you recommend to do the ATF change together with the pan ? None of the authorised dealers want to do it. Thank you.

I did my ATF replacement. The ATF is still very clear @ 46,000 km
I reckon you can just replace the ATF at 50,000 km, then replace the oil pan together with ATF flush @ 100k km.

The transmission seems awaken, smooth and full power!

Guys, I'm planning to change my ATF Fluid and car has clock 53k mileage. So far no issue with my gb. Do I need to change the sealing sleeves? Or how much is the part? Which workshop to receommend since the job seems to be very technical?

NO leak don't touch!!, BA auto at ss2. I recommend change only the ATF (RM45x6), easy job.. The PAN wait till 100k and ATF together
